He has managed to rope in the exciting new director Vikram Kumar who made waves with the trend setting Yaavarum Nalam, to direct his next film! Official sources have confirmed that Vikram will start the shoot of this untitled Vikram Kumar film from September 12, for producer Mohan Natrajan. Remember, Vikram had signed up with Mohan Natrajan a few years back, with K.S Ravi Kumar as the director? Now sources close to the actor say that he will do his next film with Ravi Kumar. What floored Vikram to Vikram Kumar was his one line narration of the story. According to sources close to Chiyaan: “The story was new and exciting, and the director’s ideas were different, yet within the format of commercial cinema with all essential ingredients like humour and action.” Vikram Kumar is now writing the entire script, sitting in the cool climes of Ooty. The rest of the star cast has not been confirmed, though they are on the look out for a young actress “with a dash of innocence and vulnerability” to play the all important female lead in the film.

One should create something original. I am a writer-director. It’s wrong for me to pass judgment on others but I would personally never do it. I would rather spend two years writing a script and then start working, rather than just take a film and make it on screen in a few months. This would not last. Primarily, I loved watching films and was a fan of cinema. I would watch any kind of film, Indian or Hollywood. While everybody was studying for something, I realized I needed to do something I loved doing. I loved watching films but one cannot make a career watching films. So I decided to try making films. My perspective was from the gallery. I am an audience first. What kind of films do you want to make? All genres. I want to make a love story, action story, comedy, animation, there are so many stories I want to tell and none of them are the same genre. I don’t take two or three films of the same kind at the same time. If you take action, there should be something new. I want to try out all permutations and combinations. Lingusamy’s Sandakozhi and Bala’s works. Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu was mind-blowing and by a fantastic director Suchindran. The story has come out clearly and I loved his work too. все перечисленные - крепкие профессионалы, но здесь нет ни одного классика тамильщины. за исключением Бала, который со временем таковым станет. Дядечка - сотворитель коммерческих хитов со всеми обязательными составляющими развлекательного кино. Тамильцам - радость, актерам - успех в кассе. Викраму бы не помешало .

I am thrilled. I consider it a boon to be doing this film. Though I cannot reveal much about my role and the film, all I can tell you is that it is a bi-lingual, being made in Hindi and Tamil with the dubbed version in Telugu. Is the Tamil version called Ashokavanam? No. It is called Ravana in Tamil but some section of the press has been wrongly calling it Ashokavanam. How was it to essay the role of a mythological figure like Lord Ram in your first Hindi film? Like I said, I cannot say much about my role in Raavan but in both the versions I play different characters. In the Tamil version, I play the protagonist while in the Hindi version I play the antagonist. How was it working with director Mani Rathnam? It is a wonderful experience to be working with Mani Rathnam. I think he is one of the best directors that Hindi and Tamil films have today. We have known each other since the last eight years, wanted to work together but never got the opportunity. Working with him I have realised that Mani has everything well-planned. Is it true that since your role was impressive and dominated that of Abhishek Bachchan’s there are plans to re-shoot the film for 30 days? It is not true. They are baseless rumours. There is no reason to re-shoot as Mani Rathnam is happy with what he has got up till now. The schedule went as planned by him. Raavan is a huge film that has been shot on diverse locations, like waterfalls, forests, huge sets and so on. Six months were spent on planning the film before it went on the floors. Moreover, shooting inside a forest requires the permission of the Forest Department, which takes time to procure. Getting an ensemble cast was also not easy either. The film has mostly big names and busy actors from Hindi and Tamil films like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Govinda, Prithviraj, Manisha Koirala and Nikhil Dwivedi. It is not easy to re-work their schedules to shoot again. What was your experience of working with them? They are all hardworking and great people. I enjoyed working with them. Did you have to work on your look? I have very challenging roles in both the versions and required immense work on my looks, voice and get-up. Is it true that Amitabh Bachchan was all praise for you when he met you? Yes. We met on a very informal note. He said he had seen some of my films. As for Abhishek Bachchan, he too watches a lot of south Indian films. I was thrilled to hear that he liked some of them. Did Big B give you any tips on acting? No, but he’s such a genius. A lot of us have emulated him in some film or other. Your Tamil film Anniyan was dubbed in Hindi and released as Aparachit in 2005. What kind of response did you get from Bollywood? The film was a hit in Tamil. The response in Bollywood was also good but I think it was a subject that did not really touch many hearts there. Like every actor, I too wanted to do Hindi films but at that time I was not ready to take on something different and then had to pack my bags and leave. I was more comfortable doing films in my mother-tongue. It was Mani Rathnam who convinced me to do a Hindi film and now I guess I am ready to take on any challenge. Does that mean you have some more assignments in Hindi? I am hoping Bollywood would welcome me after Raavan. Meanwhile, I have my hands full with films in the South. I have signed a film with Mani Rathnam’s associate Vikram whose 13-B was released some time ago. The shoot starts in September this year. Sethu, Dil, Gemini, Dhool and Sami showcased your prowess in action-oriented roles and made you the superstar in the south film industry. That is right. That was precisely the reason why I was concentrating on my career down south. I have a big market in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu after Rajinikanth. Earlier, I followed a policy of having just one release in two years. Now I have wisened up and plan to have two or three films every year. You took to singing in the Tamil film Kanthasamy. Is it another career option you plan to take? Singing has always been a hobby. The title-song Excuse me Mr Kanthasamy had dialogues in it. So the director insisted I sing it. But when I did, the music director and he liked my style and insisted that I sing all my songs in the film. I’ve sung all the songs in both the Tamil and Telugu versions. Both the versions are topping the charts all over. But I have not given serious thought to singing in future. Wasn’t it also the first time that you faced the camera with your father Vinothraj in Kanthasamy? Yes. This is the first time that my dad and I share screen space. I don’t know about him, but I was pretty tense while doing the shot. Is it true that your film will clash with Kamal Haasan’s Unnaipol Oruvan, the remake of A Wednesday? My movies have always taken time to be made and whenever they get ready, they are released. There has been a huge hype over Kanthasamy. However, I haven’t really thought about the competition. I think the more, the merrier. Is it true that you have turned producer with a film to be directed by Sasi? I did read about that in newspapers. If I ever take to production, I’m sure Sasi will be one of the first directors I would approach. He’s much in demand right now in Tamil cinema. And in 2003, you bagged the National Award for the pathbreaking Tamil film Pithamagan wherein you played a gravedigger who does not utter a word in the entire film. Any plans to bag another National Award? I am playing diverse characters in all my forthcoming films. There is a fantasy film and a period venture. I play a psychopath in one, a terrorist as well as a super-hero in another two. I assure you one of these films will bag me the most coveted National Award one more time. отсюда

Видно, капризничал, колупался в сценариях, ходил по презентациям и мечтал штурмом взять заветную табуретку Раджниканта . и вот, пожалуйста, 2008-й! - Bheema - заявка на мильон и ... полный провал. Сдаецца мне, медведь был вне себя от результата. ярился и махал лапочками. и поделом. нечего было быковать и даже в мечтах примерять корону. сначала надо режиссера найти, а потом уже мантию мерять перед зеркалом. все-таки имею надежду, что урок ему на пользу: будет больше работать .

Ace producer AM Ratnam launched his new bi-lingual film 'Bheema,' starring Vikram and Trisha in lead roles, on Thursday, April 27 at Necklace Road, Hyderabad. It is directed by Linguswamy, who has directed 'Run' for AM Ratnam. Vikram and AM Ratnam have earlier worked together in the Tamil hit 'Dhool'. "Bollywood actor Nana Patekar, who is playing a pivotal role in the film, will dub his voice himself," informed AM Ratnam. Trisha will join the cast from May 10. It has cinematography by RD Rajasekhar, music by Harris Jayaraj and action by Kanal Kannan.
