Wolf: Filmi freshers: Class of 2006 July 13, 2006 Mimoh: Talk about an acting pedigree. The 21-year-old Mimoh (birth name: Mohakshay), a kickboxer standing at 6-foot-2, has a tough task ahead of him: Stepping out of the shadows of parents Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali. There have been rumours about him kicking things off with a Vikram Bhatt film and an as-yet-untitled Dipak Sareen film, but as the smoke clears, it seems Mimoh will burst into action with a Raj Sippy thriller called Jimmy, opposite Pooja Singh (who was in the Thums Up ad with Akshay Kumar, by the way) in September. After that is a G V Prasad film titled He... The Only One, an action remake of Telugu hit Athanokkade hitting theatres in December.

Wolf: No place like home Mimoh Cottage in Madh Island is opened up after 10 years, as Mimoh Chakraborty moves to Mumbai Ram Kamal Mukherjee Mithun Chakraborty's son Mimoh Chakraborty shifted base from Ooty to Mumbai yesterday. Mimoh will now be staying at the Chakraborty's palatial bungalow, Mimoh Cottage, in Madh Island. “I am so glad to be back in Mumbai,” says Mimoh. Fifteen years ago his father had moved from Mumbai to Ooty. He has set up his hotel, school and other businesses in Ooty and they had settled down there. “I told Mithun (he addresses his Dad by name) that I want to stay in Mumbai because it will be more convenient for my producers and directors to get in touch with me. He has always been supportive and understanding, so he didn't create any fuss. In fact, he asked my mother, brother and sister to come along and stay with me,” he says. Currently Yogeeta Bali is busy unpacking bags at the Madh Island bungalow. “All my stuff is here. Mithun too felt that I need to be in Munmbai since the entire film industry is located here. It's easy for him to function from wherever he wants to, because he is Mithun Chakraborty. But I am a struggling actor and I need to meet people and still find my way around in Bollywood,” explains Mimoh. So, what vibes is Mumbai giving him? “Oh, this is the city of dreams and Mithun says that if you are true to yourself here, it will make all your dreams come true,” he replies. The bungalow, too, has lots of memories attached. Although they have not lived in it for more than a decade, Mimoh is extremely attached to it. He says, “This Island house is called Mimoh Cottage, because Mithun bought it on July 27, 1984, just three days before I was born. I have lots of memories in this house. I was born here, we used to have birthday parties and New Year here, where invitees included everyone from the industry. We also used to celebrate Saraswati puja and Lakshmi puja here, on a grand scale.” Mithun also had a dozen dogs at his bungalow. “When Mithun decided to shift base, he took all his pets to Ooty. Now we have 30 dogs in Ooty. We can't bring all of them here, but I will be getting the puppies over, the ones which need special care," says Mimoh. Will Mimoh celebrate his birthday this year at Mimoh Cottage? “Not a bad idea,” he smiles. “If I am not shooting or doing anything else, I will certainly throw a party for my close friends.” But Mithun being far away in Ooty, does he miss his father? “Mithun is currently shooting in Mysore with Rituparna Sengupta for a Bengali film. He has a very busy schedule. He is constantly in touch with us, but I doubt he'll be able to stay with us in Mumbai,” he replies. “He needs to be in Ooty to take care of his businesses. I do miss him, but he always tells me that I shouldn't try to remain in his shadow, I should be independent. I am just trying to follow his advice.”

Алёна: Mithun's son ready for action Come September, there will be a lot of expectations at the box office. It's when Mithun Chakraborty's son Mimoh (Mahakshay) will make his debut with Jimmy. The release is two months away, yet the 22-year old already has six more in hand. Mimoh must believe in himself very strongly. After all, he gave up his education to concentrate on his career in cinema. In conversation with Patcy N, the young star is all praise for his father and considers Hrithik Roshan his god. Excerpts: "I skipped my HSC exams because I had to begin training for films. I did a 3-month crash course in acting and dancing at the New York film academy. I did a 6-month course with Roshan Tarneja, who was also my father's teacher at the film institute at Pune. I have also learnt the basics of Indian classical dance, horse riding, karate, judo and kickboxing. I never wanted be an actor. But, after Hrithik Roshan became a sensation with Kaho Na.Pyaar Hai and every other star kid was getting into movies, I decided to give it a shot. I weighed 125 kilograms at the time though, so I had to first lose weight. I was scared to tell this to my dad, so I told my mom first. She told my father that I wanted to show him a dance. He said it was absolutely horrible, but later added that I had grace and rhythm. He said, 'If you are ready to work hard and dedicate your life to it, I will be there at every step.' I began training in June 2000. I had a strict diet plan and exercised for 4 hours a day. My dad felt I should be at least 21 before being launched. My father accompanied me to America for my acting course. He would cook food for me, clean my room. He is a complete father. He is very professional but, at the same time, very loving. He is very honest and blunt, and doesn't care if you feel bad. I always feel it is because of his harsh criticism that I have come this far. He is very balanced and knows when to draw the line. When we are shooting, he is strictly professional. If something goes wrong, he will tell it to my face. But, when we pack up and are at home, we are buddies. We talk about everything in life. My dad would accompany me during my first shooting schedule. Now, he has left me on my own. He knows this is my own battle and I have to learn from my own mistakes. While growing up, I was never stationed in one area. I lived in Mumbai between the ages of 1 and 10. I was then in Ooty for five years before moving to Coimbatore. I was never a spoilt child. My parents did not want me or my brothers and sister to go that way. I am proud that they never let me go overboard. In school, everyone looked at me with respect. That is one thing I have to deal with even today the burden of being a star's child. I am not afraid of comparisons, because they are inevitable. I have stopped running away from it and begun accepting it. I have taken it as a motivating tool to do better. I know I can never be better than my father -- he is a legend. I can never think of becoming even one-fourth the person he is. But if I can entertain people in my own way, I have done my job. My dad has a huge fan following. You can imagine how it is, coming out of his shadow. He has won three National Awards. I don't even think about awards. He tells me to just concentrate on acting for the next 10 years, nothing else. I don't copy his style of acting. He wants me to learn from him and create my own. My father is very concerned about me because this is a dangerous profession. Destinies change here every Friday. He has gone through the worst times sleeping on footpaths, starving for days and doesn't want anything to happen to me. My mother, Yogeeta Bali, is simply superb. Nothing I say about her can be enough. She saw the limelight, but left everything for her family. I would love to see her play my onscreen mother, but she doesn't want anything other than her family. My parents tell us stories about their experiences on the sets; they are fun to listen. My dad was a brat, and still is. Even today, he will come on sets and pick a fight with anyone just for fun. He jokes a lot. My mom had a hard time because her grandmother would make her skip 100 times daily in order to lose weight. At night, my mother would slip into the kitchen and eat whatever she wanted to. My younger brother Ushmey (Rimoh) wants to be a director. He makes his own short films with a handy cam. My youngest brother Namashi is a born actor. He knows everything about films. My sister Dishani is the darling of the house. Everything in our house revolves around her, as she is the youngest. She wants to be an actress, but I always tell her she should be a model, which irritates her. I gave a lot of auditions before signing my first movie, He, The Only One. For both movies -- Jimmy and He, The Only One the producer had come to my father to sign me, but Mithun insisted on my giving an audition as that was the procedure for any newcomer. Jimmy is a thriller directed by Raj Sippy. My co-star is Pooja Singh, who currently stars in the Thums Up commercial with Akshay Kumar. He, The Only One is an action remake of the Telugu film Athanokkade, and has everything a newcomer needs to prove his talent. It is directed by Dhanraj Shekar. When I first faced the camera, I was petrified. My legs were shaking. But my first shot was accepted in one take. My father gifted me an Omega watch, as promised. He does not star in any of my films because he feels I will be overpowered by the image he carries. He will work with me later when I have proved myself. I already have friends in the industry. Salman Khan tells me I should stay with him whenever I come to Mumbai. Abhishek Bachchan says he is like my big brother and that I should spend time with him. This is all because of my father and the respect he has in the industry. Hrithik is god to me. I have worshipped Aishwarya Rai and am now part of their family. I had a huge crush on Malaika Arora. I am very fond of Priyanka Chopra and would love to work with her some day. As for Hollywood, I would love to work with Lindsay Lohan. My dream, however, is to share screen space with my father" __________________ собссна,рассказывает о том,как в кино пришел,что типа. с Lindsay Lohan.Однако,самая большая его мечта - сыграть в одном фильме с папой........

olga: The king of kissing turns Killer Diganta Guha/ HT City Kolkata, July 19, 2006 Needless to say, he is in the big league. Emraan Hashmi’s track record in 2006 is two out of three - he started the year with a not-so-successful Jawani Diwani but then Aksar hit bullseye and Gangster, too, was a success. Naturally, the actor is having a ball. However, he is not taking things for granted - "I never really wanted to be an actor, but acting has given a direction to my life. My concern is whether my films are making money and whether the audience likes them. All my films with the Bhatt (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt) camp have done well," says the actor. Before we move on, if you haven’t heard it yet, here we go - "I am getting married by the end of this year," he declares. It is news that won’t make his female fans happy. Emraan prefers to talk about his films and it’s criticism that is more important to him than praise. "I come from a non-filmi family. And they are extremely critical of me, which means I am always on my toes," says Emraan. Coming up is The Killer - also produced by the Bhatts - a film directed by debutant director duo Raksha Mistry and Hasnain S Hyderabadwalla. Inspired by Michael Mann’s Collateral, starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, the film stars Emraan along with Irrfan and Nisha Kothari. "The premise has been taken from Collateral but changes have been made," says Emraan. He plays a cabbie in the film who is "quite vibrant, crazy and immature. It’s about how he grows up after meeting this killer played by Irrfan." The Killer releases this Friday. The chemistry between Irrfan and him is something that Emraan cherishes. “It’s a weird relationship and that’s where the comedy angle comes in. The cabbie is not scared of the killer and the latter, too, develops a fondness for him. He just can’t kill him until…. You have to watch the film to find out,” comes Emraan’s reply. Emraan has only respect for co-star Irrfan. “He is a great actor. He doesn’t act but lives the character,” he says. And about Nisha, who plays his love interest, he says, “She does a good job in the film. She is a bar dancer but there is no vulgarity associated with her role.” Emraan has Aaditya Datt’s Dil Diya Hai (he did Aashiq Banaya Aapne with the director last year) coming up and Ashwini Chaudhary’s Good Boy Bad Boy too. In DDH ("a romantic film with a thrill element, which the promos do not show”) he shares screen space for the first time with Mithun Chakraborty. “He is a natural actor, has great screen presence and brings a kind of a persona on to the screen." Emraan is also doing another film with the Bhatt camp and has signed one with Shyam Bajaj with whom he worked in Aksar. Finally, how has success changed Emraan? “It has made me more focused and given me confidence,” he signs off.

Wolf: Mithun Chakraborty will be MLA Fatakeshto again Return of the MLA Mithun Chakraborty will be MLA Fatakeshto again What happens to MLA Fatakeshto once he is in the hot seat at Writers’? Well, we will find out by next April when MLA Fatakeshto Part II hits the halls. Buoyed by the success of MLA Fatakeshto, starring Mithun Chakraborty in the title role of a goon-turned-politician, producer Shree Venkatesh Films has decided to come up with a Tollywood rarity — a sequel. The yet-untitled film will start where the original ended — with Mithun entering the government as home minister — and then track the political career of Fatakeshto. “We thought of a sequel as we felt the story of MLA Fatakeshto could be carried forward. The character can be extended. People will watch out for what Fatakeshto does after entering the government, what opposition he will face and how he will upset everybody’s plans,” says Shrikant Mohta of Venkatesh. “We discussed the idea with Mithunda and he has agreed.” Shooting will probably start in December-January, aimed at a Poila Baisakh release next year. “Planning is still in the first stages but I am very excited. This sequel is a risky venture and it would be the first of its kind in Tollywood. We will try and make it as successful as the original,” said Mithun, having scored vital popularity points for his MLA act. MLA… was released with a record 61 prints across Bengal on April 14, seven days before the state went to the polls. By the end of four weeks, the film had grossed Rs 2.5 crore, almost a crore more than 2005’s most successful film, Juddha. With a plot derived from the Anil Kapoor-Rani Mukherjee-starrer Nayak, the film had Koel Mullick playing a journalist, Debasree Roy as Mithun’s wife who gets murdered and Soumitra Chatterjee as the chief minister. The sequel is likely to retain the cast and Swapan Saha as director. Scriptwriter Salil, who penned the now-famous lines “Marbo ekhane, lash porbe shashane”, will once again put some fiery dialogues in Mithunda’s mouth. Has the Bollywood sequel bug finally bitten Tollywood? “Sequels will rule the roost in Bengal very soon too, as we are running out of stories to make into films,” feels Mohta. “But films must have sequel value like MLA Fatakeshto, which is character-based and helps you develop the storyline.”

Wolf: Dil Diya Hai - yet another comeback for Mithun? Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Thursday, July 13, 2006] Would 'Dil Diya Hai' finally turn out to be a comeback flick for Mithun Chakravorty? Ever since Mithun announced his arrival to mainstream Bollywood projects with Vikram Bhatt's 'Elaan', there have been number of movies that have come and gone but either his act hasn't been appreciated much or the film has been a commercial disaster. While 'Elaan' turned out to be a box office disappointment, his next 'Classic - Dance Of Love' was completely ignored. His role in 'Lucky - No Time For Love' was poorly written though the film was a success whereas he was hailed in 'Chingaari' but the film had a quick death at the theatres. 'Sun Zarra' was his next release but except for the people associated with the film, no one was even aware about the film's existence. Now he would be seen soon in 'Dil Diya Hai' that is directed by Aaditya Dutt who made 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' a year back. One hopes that this comeback proves to be fruitful for Mithun as he joins hands with youngsters Emraan Hashmi, Ashmit Patel and debutant Geeta Basra. His next big release would be Mani Ratnam's 'Guru'.
