wichy: [a target=_new href=http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/jan/07-mithun-da-back-after-a-year-010806.asp]отсюда[/a][!--url--] - про предстоящие релизы Митхуна в 2008 г. Exactly a year back Mithun Chakraborty was seen in a roaring performance in GURU. The film starred him as Manikdas Guptha, a Newspaper owner, who was fondly called Nanaji and shared a love-hate relationship with his disciple (Abhishek Bachchan). Directed by Mani Rathnam, the film had released on 12th January 2007. Now exactly a year later, he would be seen in a principal role once again as Father Briganza in the film MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES. To be released in a few days from now i.e. on 11th January, the film sees him play a guardian angel to the lead protagonist Anthony (Nikhil Dwivedi). Directed by E Niwas, the film showcases a warm and endearing relationship between Anthony and Father Briganza. In fact, Mithun da's character is not only Anthony's father figure, he is also his moral guardian, who, in due course of time, helps him choose between right and wrong. In between GURU and MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES, he was seen on the big screen but that was for a brief appearance in the song and dance number 'Deewangee' in Shahrukh Khan's OM SHANTI OM. Incidentally, MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES also has a Shahrukh Khan connection as Red Chillies Entertainment is the Line Producer of the film. 2008 would see number of Mithun da films arriving on the silver screen. Apart from MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES, he would also be seen in the Bengali film KAAL PURUSH - MEMORIES OF THE MIST. Directed by Budhdev Das Gupta, the film also stars Rahul Bose and Sameera Reddy. Hansal Mehta directed RAAKH is also ready for release and features Sohail Khan, Amrita Arora and Eesha Koppikhar along with Aditya Srivastav. Samir Karnik directed HEROES is an episodic biggie that is all set for a 1st May release. The film boasts of a mega star cast which includes Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta, Sohail Khan, Vatsal Sheth, Dino Morea, Amrita Arora and Riya Sen along with Mithun da.

olga: Mithun Chakraborty: The perfect artiste 22 Dec, 2007 11:27 am IST l INDIATIMES MOVIES Actor Mithun Chakraborty is every filmmaker’s delight. And director of Don Muthuswami , Ashim Samanta tells us why. "Mithun has become as good as the best in the industry. He had asked us for the entire script of the film in advance, and would daily ask us which scenes we were shooting. He would then go through the scenes, make his notes and rehearse the scenes with all the artistes four to five times. Whether others liked it or not, they had to practice the scene before the take. Naturally, this reduced my burden". We’re sure the filmmakers are saying Don-don-a-don to their perfect casting.

olga: Coming soon "Don Muthuswami" Here is some good news for Mithun Chakraborty fans as well as those who prefer hilarious comedies on the celluloid. Here is some good news for Mithun Chakraborty fans as well as those who prefer hilarious comedies on the celluloid. After a long break, Mithun is back in a stellar role in ‘Don Muthuswami’ The film shot under the banner of Samanta Movies Pvt Ltd is being presented by Shakti Samanta and directed by his son Asim Samanta. In addition to Mithun, the star cast of the film includes Hrishta Bhatt, Rohit Roy, Mohit Raina and Anusmriti. The music for the film has been scored by Anu Mallik. ‘Don Muthuswami’ promises to kill the audience with laughter unless they cry for mercy! It’s a comedy flick which presents the Mumbai underworld of the early 70s with dons dominating all around. And Mithun Chakraborty portrays the role of one such don. The storyline of the film is as follows: Muthuswami's father is on his deathbed and Muthu comes to see him and pay his last respect. As he comes close to his father, his father slaps Muthu and tells him that he has brought shame to the family by being a gangster and that he would die an unhappy man. The don asks his father what he could do to bring his father peace in his last moments. His father extracts a promise from Muthu that he would go straight. Thus, begins the ‘drama of don’ trying to transform into a gentleman. Next, Muthu tells his henchmen to continue working for him, but now instead of being gangsters they have to work as domestic helps. He engages an Urdu/Hindi teacher Jaikishan (Mohit Raina) to improve his language and commences his journey to transform from ‘Don Muthuswami’ to ‘Sir Muthuswami’. The storyline takes a twist when it is time to get ‘Sir Muthuswami’s’ daughter Sanjana (Hrishita Bhatt) married. While Muthu considers his very good friend ‘Don Vardhan's’ son Pradhan to be the best match for Sanjana, the girl refuses to oblige. To avoid marriage, Sanjana lies that she is pregnant. Muthu's general manager, Preetam (Rohit Roy), who wants to marry Muthu's daughter, is another dimension of this comic confusion. He had been stealing regularly from Muthu, to become a millionaire. The confusion enhances when Ranjana (Anusmriti) tells Muthu that she loves his accountant Preetam. She also admits to Muthu that she had lied to Preetam about being Muthu's daughter. In the meanwhile, Sanjana and Jaikishan fall in love with each other and make things more complicated. How does Muthu get back the loot from Preetam? Who is the father of Sanjana's baby? Who marries whom? Who Is Ranjana? What happens to the rival gangsters? How does Don Muthuswami handle the police? If all these make you curious, wait for and watch "Don Muthuswami". And needless to say, Mithun Chakraborty gives another classic performance in the film. -(SAMPURN)

Mithun and Bappi's sons team up for Jimmy Sunil Shetty, who has signed the star-son for Loot, thinks Mimoh dances like a dream. Mithun Chakraborty's son whose debut film Jimmy releases in February proved he had inherited his dancing skills from his father when he danced for 50 days for one song sequence in his debut film Jimmy. The thought of refurbishing and pepping up Mimoh's debut film with a lavish item song came from the concerned father Mithun himself. When Mithun-da saw the finished product with his old friend Raj Sippy directs, he thought something else needed to be added to the product, hence the item song. The shy newcomer describes the number 'Marhabba Yeh Rab MeraRooth Gaya', choreographed by Nadeem Khan, as the most exhilarating start any newcomer can hope for. "I don't know if I dance half as well as Anna Sir (Suniel) or my Dad thinks. But the number which we rehearsed and shot over a stretch of fifty days just made me feel so proud to be where I was and of my Dad's legacy that I'm carrying forward." Shooting this baap of all item songs was a journey in time for Mithunda's baba. "The song was choreographed by Nadeem Khan who has done many of my father's songs and it was composed by Bappa Lahiri, Bappida's son. When I remember all the songs that Bappida and my dad teamed up to create history, I get goosebumps. In fact, my debut film's title Jimmy comes from a chartbuster composed by Bappida for dad." Bappa and Mimoh are buddies. "And hopefully some of our dads' magic has rubbed off on both of us," says Mimoh hopefully as he waits nervously for D Day. And while Mimoh has one of Bollywood's abiding star as a guiding light at home. He gets to match strides with another dancing star in his two post-debut films. "Govindaji, whom I hero-worship along with my dad, is my co-star in my next two films Dharmesh Darshan's untitled film and Suneil Sir's Loot. And I've to dance with Govindaji in both! I guess more than my debut film I've reason to be nervous about what comes afterwards." Incidentally, Mimoh's co-star in Dharmesh Darshan's film is Hansika Motwani who was supposed to make her debut with Mimoh two years ago. "I guess it's a small world, even if it's show-world," says Mimoh.

Xenia: olga :

All’s fair in love The Mahaguru will now make an appearance in a Bangladeshi venture. Directed by Amjad Hussain, this film is titled Golapi Ekhon Bilete. In fact, Mithun Chakraborty is the only Indian actor in the flick. The rest of the cast include Moushumi Sabnur, Firdaus and Sharmili among others. The story revolves round a female character Golapi. She divorces her husband in Bangladesh and goes abroad. There he meets Mithun (Mithun Chakraborty) who has a daughter. In fact, Mithun and Golapi had earlier known each other. But their affair never culminated in marriage. Golapi starts living with Mithun but the thought of starting a new life with him never occurs to her. Golapi’s sole aim is shifted to bringing up Mithun’s daughter, Tumpa. When Tumpa comes of age, she develops a soft corner for Mukta (Firdaus). But her dad doesn’t approve of the affair. This time around, Golapi supports Tumpa’s choice as she blames Mithun for her sad fate. What happens next is what the film is all about. While the crew is shooting in Kolkata for the time being, they are also planning to shoot in other locales.

Xenia: Leetah : develops a soft corner

Helping hand A birdie tells us that Mithun Chakraborty recently called Govinda and asked him to push his son Mimoh’s career and get him lucrative offers in the industry, “Govinda got a call from Mithunda (Chi Chi’s a big fan of Mr Chakraborty) and he quickly agreed. Not only has the actor taken Mimoh under his wing, he has also recommended Mimoh’s name to the producers of the multi-starrers that he is being offered.” Guru and chela will be seen together in Popcorn Entertainment’s Loot directed by Rajneesh Thakur and the other is a movie produced by Vijay Galani and directed by Dharmesh Darshan. Umm... didn’t Govinda need Salman’s help to get a job just a couple of months back?

А почему не перевела - (Chi Chi’s a big fan of Mr Chakraborty) (Чи-Чи большой фанат мистера Чакраборти) это очень приятно слышать и от Говинды тоже....

Xenia: The Myth Breaker 3 Feb 2008, 0000 hrs IST,MANDVI SHARMA ,TNN The story goes that when Mithun Chakraborty reached the sets to shoot for Om Shanti Om’s special appearance song where half the industry put in an appearance, the crew went berserk. A junior crew person jumped in front of Mithun and Shah Rukh, handed the Badshah of the industry a camera and asked him to click a picture of his with Mithunda! And there is no questioning the story after what DT saw at Chandni Chowk the other day. The moment Mithun reached the rooftop of a house, the area erupted in the chants of ‘I am a disco dancer’. The presence of superstar Akshay Kumar, who is also shooting with Mithun for Chandni Chowk to China, was forgotten in the frenzy! Mithun did his famous Disco Dancer jig which was immediately captured in mobile phone cameras by people all around him. “ Itne door se mera picture milega ?” he laughed and added, “Earlier I was wondering how they’ll shoot in Chandni Chowk, but the crowd here is very nice and disciplined.” And what makes him such a phenomenon amongst the masses? “That is because I am the guy next door, the myth breaker. Main na ummeed ki ummeed hoon! When people look at me, they say, ‘If Mithun can do it, so can I.’ Maybe because I have never had a godfather in the industry, and the fact that I have done all kinds of roles,” he says, and goes on to explain, “It was thought that dark-skinned heroes can’t make it in Bollywood, I broke that myth. It was said that India won’t take to disco-dancing, I broke that myth. And despite being a commercial actor who catered to the masses, I managed to gave performances that fetched me three national awards.” And even today, the man is keeping himself busy with acting and his hotel business. “I love to cook, do gardening and I also love animals. I have hotels that I make sure do well. I am like any other businessman today,” he says. Mithun’s son Mimoh will soon be making his debut in movies. “Well, the difference between him and me is that when I entered the industry, I did not have a roof over my head. He does! But I have to confess that he is a delight to watch when he dances. He is 25 per cent better than me.”

Xenia : He is 25 per cent better than me

olga: ek nodir galpo – a re-review Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Shweta Prasad, Anjan Srivastav, Krishnakishore Mukherjee, Nirmal Kumar, Bulbul Choudhury and Jishu Sengupta Story Sunil Gangopadhyay Screenplay and Dialogue Samir Chanda Editing Sanjib Dutta Audiography Anup Mukherjee Make-up Debi Haldar Production Design Samir Chanda Cinematography Rajen C Kothari Music Nachiketa Produced by Sangeeta Ajay Agarwal and Lila Chanda Directed by Samir Chanda Synopsis Darakeshwar is the village postmaster. He lives with his only daughter Anjana who becomes the only girl in the village to graduate from high school and take admission in the city college. The doting father waits at the bus stop every evening to fetch his daughter as she returns from the city. One evening, Anjana does not come back. Just as the villagers climb onto their gossip machine, the body of the girl is fished out of the Keleghai river that runs along the village. Darakeshwar’s first reaction is to refuse to accept the truth. When he actually sees his daughter’s body, he decides, in the face of the scandalized villagers, to give the girl a river burial. “She is not dead. She will come back to life,” he says, mainly to himself. Instead of filing a FIR that could bring the culprit to book, he makes it his life’s mission to change the name of the river from Keleghai to Anjana, after his dead daughter. He forgets about his job, about his basic needs and trots from pillar to post, trying to find out how the name of the river can be changed. For the officials he visits, it is an appeal they have never heard of before – changing the name of a river – who has ever heard of this? They find it strange that a father whose daughter has been gang-raped, murdered and her body dumped in the very river whose name he seeks to change and she loved so dearly, does not care about bringing the culprits to book. They think he is a nut case. Little boys pelt stones at him as he canvases his cause from village to village, laughed and ogled at, made the butt of jokes and given up as a lost case. At the end of the day, he sits on the riverbank and talks to his dead daughter. A young and honest police officer begins a manhunt for the killers of the young girl on his own. He catches the gang of rapists who killed the girl but Darakeshwar is unmoved. He finally decides to solve his problem on his own. The sympathetic district magistrate, unable to help him officially or legally, helps in his personal capacity. As Darakeshwar tries to dig a hole on the riverbank to put in a wooden post with a banner with ‘Anjana’ written on it, the DM tells him, “I will dig the hole and you put in the post.” Is strict fidelity to the original literary source possible? Or is it even necessary? Should we, as viewers, take fidelity as a methodological principle to be followed by the filmmaker who chooses to adapt a literary source to make his film? All these questions get raised as one watches production designer Samir Chanda’s entry into direction with Ek Nadir Galpo. Based on a story Ekti Nodir Naam, authored by the noted Sunil Gangopadhyay that haunted Chanda from the time he was in college, Ek Nodir Galpo moves beyond the limitations of the written word. It defines grief as an overwhelming emotion that can change the life of a man, less than ordinary, radically and irreversibly for an extraordinary and unique cause. Ek Nodir Galpo is a poignant celluloid document that throws up an extraordinary perspective on the dedication of a human being towards a cause that may seem crazy to most. Through what may seem a simple story of love between a father and his motherless daughter, the film subtly but steadily covers other areas such as, our losing link with nature presented metaphorically through the river; the casual negligence of officialdom when the person approaching it is either thought to be nutty, or poor, or both; the value-centric integrity that still sustains among a few officers; the empathy that sometimes peeps out of the steel exterior of a strict DM; the river presented as a physical reality, as an integral part of the lives of those who live near it, the river as a metaphor for the anger presented through high tide, as a vehicle of death, as a soother of the mind, as a carrier of dead bodies, as an indirect upholder of the human spirit; and finally, the river as a symbol of Darakeshwar’s dead daughter if only through its imaginary new name – Anjana. The river is an omnipresence that carries ambivalent meanings throughout the film. True to its name, symbolically speaking, the film is more the story of a river than of a father and his daughter. At the heart of the film, its life and soul is the superb performance of Mithun Chakraborty as Darakeshwar. As he struggles to get the river named after his daughter, he changes his looks, his body language and even his voice. He stops shaving or going for a haircut becoming oblivious to the tattering clothes on his body, or the strange stares of people as he stands up on a makeshift podium to make an impromptu speech asking the people to sign on his signature campaign, or, to the boys who pelt him with stones as he walks by. Contrast this to the scenes with him as the smiling father laughing away at his daughter’s pranks, or making plans for her future and you see one of the most memorable performances come alive on screen by any actor in any language in the history of Indian cinema. This is perhaps Mithun’s best performance ever, Mrigaya (1976) and Tahader Katha, notwithstanding. Shweta Prasad as the adolescent daughter Anjana is a natural performer who does not betray any awe about acting with one of the best actors Indian cinema has ever produced. Krishnakishore Mukherjee as the kindly but stern DM and Jishu Sengupta as the conscience-ridden police officer are very good too as are Bulbul Choudhury as the concerned neighbour and Rahul Prasad as her grandson. Nachiketa who has done the musical score for the film, revives an old folk number sung by young brides and marriageable girls. The song offers a point of relief in the tragic story of love on the one hand and the strength of the human spirit on the other. The music has a gentle flow to it, in harmony with the river flowing along. Rajen C Kothari’s cinematography is low-key and subtly captures the village ambience with its browns and ambers aesthetically. Shot almost entirely on location along the banks of the river Bhagirati, in a village called Naliapur in Burdwan district, the film is a rich visual experience. Anup Mukherjee’s sound design flows like the soft and soothing waves of the Keleghai river. Sanjib Dutta’s editing does justice to the dramatic changes in the mood of the film from innocent joy, to a bonding between two individuals, through shock, grief, moving from the village to the neighbouring town into government offices to village market places and streets only to come back, like the proverbial bad coin, again and again, to the banks of the Keleghai river. Chanda’s dialogue retains the local inflections of the Bengali dialect spoken by the region the film portrays. There are three National Award winners sharing the credits of the film. One is director Samir Chanda himself who, as production designer, has won several National Awards, Mithun Chakraborty is another National Award winner several times over and the third is Shweta Prasad, who won the National Award for the Best Child Artiste in 2003. But these hardly count in a film where the contribution of every single member of the team speaks for itself. One hopes Chanda sustains the spirit of excellence and dedication he reveals in his first film, much like his protagonist’s single-minded dedication to attain an incredible goal. In a film like this, you can cheerfully forget the story it has been adapted from. For Ek Nodir Galpo, the film is the story.

выдержка о Митхуне - - But a few years ago you did make some wrong choices... like some of the movies you did with Mithun Chakraborty? Mithunda is three times National Award winner. Is there anybody here who’s won the award thrice? I’m fond of Mithunda. - It’s not about Mithun, it’s about the choice of movies at that time? Chalta hai! Height hai, body hai, awaaz hai, discipline hai, kissi ke saamne khade hue toh pehle mein dikhta hai! Yes, at times I have done movies because some filmmakers requested me to.

Mithun’s chilling tales The cold wave hasn’t even spared our Bollywood actors who are used to shooting in harsh conditions. Take for instance Mithun Chakraborty. The disco dancer has been non-stop shooting for his film Chandi Chowk to China in the freezing climate of Delhi. The actor who couldn’t bare the cold anymore decided to take a break and rushed to Bombay. But unfortunately like all other Mumbaikar’s Mithun was surprised by the cold wave in Mumbai. Well it looks like our Bengali babu who is so not used to this cool climate will have to bear with it, at least for a while.

olga: Алёна : freezing climate of Delhi ну так уж и freezing!
