wichy: Отседава Sushmita sensed Shiney’s stress! 07th July 2006 15.40 IST By Nikhil Kumar Sushmita Sen and Shiney Ahuja got along very well during the shooting of Zindagi Rocks . The film, directed by Tanuja Chandra, is a departure for Shiney from intense, grey roles to a light-hearted one. The movie has Shiney playing a doctor who falls for a female rock singer played by Sushmita Sen. It appears Shiney and Sush gelled very well while shooting together for the film. So much that whenever Shiney felt tired and fatigued, Sush would sense it even though he would try to conceal it. Shiney says in an interview that Sushmita is a very sensitive woman. “Sushmita’s very sweet, sensitive and special. I’ve been shooting non-stop since October and there were times when I was really stressed out. No one else sensed it but she’d take one look at me and say: Janeman, aaj kuch gadbad hai. Tumhare dil mein kuch baat hai....” Besides Shiney and Sush, ‘Zindagi Rocks’ also stars Kim Sharma and Moushmi Chatterjee. The film is slated to hit the theatres in August. The film has Sushmita playing a rock singer named Kriya. Shiney Ahuja plays Suraj Rihan, a doctor with a tragic past. The film is the story of relationship between these two people. Shiney’s character in the film is very shy while Sush’s is fun-loving and flamboyant. It is she who makes the first move on the reclusive doc. Also part of the movie’s plot is Sush’s family. What is commendable about Sush’s character in the film is her styling. There is a goddess tattoo on her arm, bracelets on her wrists and she sports other trinkets associated with rock stars. The film will have five soft rock songs composed by Anu Malik . Singer Sunidhi Chauhan is Sushmita’s voice for these songs.

Shiney Ahuja has arrived We talk with Shiney, someone whose career is about resemble his name. by Raj Shah He made news with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and with great acclaim won popular awards for Best Debut ? and with the Bhatt Production of Gangster, he has made his position known in Hindi films. Clearly Shiney Ahuja has arrived. Raj Shah: Now that Gangster is a hit you must be feeling great? Shiny Ahuja: Yeah, when your hard work pays off it feels good. I am glad people accepted the film and the portrayal of a Don, which was different I would like to think. When I got Gangster, I was constantly reminded I am replacing this or that but I took it on as a role that excited me and did it. I took up the role immediately - because mainly it was a Mahesh Bhatt film and I knew I would get a good bargain with the script, role, director - all appealed to me which is why I wanted to be a part of the film. What I enjoyed most about Gangster was the way he evolves from a regular person into a Gangster. His anger, his angst, his pain, his insecurities all were defining moments for him. RS: Though you were technically the lead, Emraan Hashmi took away the glory with the songs et al and you seemed like a second lead. SA: I wouldn't like to think I was the second lead - it was a parallel role but even if some people think so, I don't mind. I am not really bothered about how much footage I have on screen but if I can make people remember me once they leave the theatre, I am happy. I am happy that Emraan Hashmi was in the movie and got more songs, more footage than me. He is a more popular star than I am so in the best interests of the film why not? RS: You are termed arrogant! SA: That's a new one!! [Laughs] I don't think I am arrogant, but simply cautious about what I say and who I talk to. I am not a very talkative person with people I don't know well and I wouldn't want to get into any controversy simply because I said something. People know me, my work and that's all that matters to me. RS: What prompted you to take the cameo role in Kunal Kohli's Fanaa? SA: The main reason why I did the cameo role of an army officer posted in Srinagar in Fanaa was because the character's name is Suraj and it was my dad's name too. He too was an army officer who was in Kashmir so I simply asked Yashraj to allow me to keep the surname Ahuja, which is why I could wear my dad's badge in the film. When I told my dad he was thrilled. RS: How was working with Sushmita Sen in Tanuja Chandra's Zindagi Rocks? SA: She's cool and wonderful to work with. The film isn't just about a rockstar, but is a unique love story, and a touching treatise on human generosity. It is a modern love story depicting happiness and emotions at the same time. It should release in August. RS: What are the other offers you have on hand? SA: This year there should be quite a few films. I have Mohit Suri's Woh Lamhe, the Parveen Babi-inspired film where I play Mahesh Bhatt with Kangana Raut, Sudhir Mishra's Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan, and Anurag Basu's Metro.

wichy: wichy пишет: What prompted you to take the cameo role in Kunal Kohli's Fanaa?

Shiney 'Gangster' Ahuja cannot stop raving about Sushmita Sen By Subhash K Jha Mumbai, May 10 (IANS) Newcomer Shiney Ahuja, who steals the show as a dreaded mobster in his latest release "Gangster", cannot stop raving about Sushmita Sen. "I am doing Tanuja Chandra's film 'Rocking' with her. It is a love story between a cardiologist played by me and a singer played by Sushmita. The title 'Rocking' doesn't only refer to music but also to the way she rocks my life," Shiney told IANS. "She is enigmatic and magnetic. Among all my co-stars so far she is my absolute favourite." Talking about "Gangster", Shiney said: "You know, the whole film industry looks at 'Gangster' as my first film. 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' didn't build any sort of a commercial equity for me. Though in many ways it changed my life. "But I can't demand a certain price on the basis of 'Hazaaron Khwaishein...' The awards have helped in increasing my fee." He reluctantly admits there wasn't much money in "Gangster". "But at the end of the day you have to do what you believe in. Working with Mahesh Bhatt saab was a genuine learning experience. He is a pioneer in a certain kind of cinema. And the Bhatts (Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt) have a high success ratio. They know the industry in and out. And they have taught me a lot. I knew nothing about the industry when I arrived. I now consult Sudhir Mishra and Mahesh Bhatt. They are my godfathers." He gives a clean chit to his co-stars Kangana and Emran Hashmi in "Gangster". "Kangana is a sweet girl. And Emran is a really cool guy. There was absolutely no insecurity about him just because he belonged to the Bhatt clan. On the contrary, he has a reputation for good songs. So I thought I will have good songs too. "I have two songs in 'Gangster' though I don't sing them on screen. Singing wouldn't go with my character. Can you imagine a cold-blooded gangster bursting into a song?" So how does it feel sweeping most of the popular awards? "Not most of them," he corrected. "All of them. The awards were all surprises one after another, coming as they all did for 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi', which got a 35-print release. The awards went on and on until Filmfare which is the most prestigious of the lot." After a character modelled on mobster Abu Salem in "Gangster", Shiney plays Mahesh Bhatt in "Woh Lamhe". "Again my co-star is Kangana. It is the love story between Bhatt saab and Parveen Babi." Next, Shiney has his mentor Sudhir Mishra's "Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan". "I am waiting to start that. And Anurag Basu's 'Metro'." He feels more relaxed now than he did when he made his debut. "I haven't changed. But my environment has changed. I am no longer tense. My mentor Sudhir Mishra says my graph is going the opposite way. With success I have become easier to deal with." He laughs about the divorce story. "I found it funny. It was initially embarrassing for my wife. Even she laughed about it later. But I don't react at all to such talk. I wonder who has the time to spread all these rumours. I can't understand the intentions of such people. I have to realise that such gossip will be a part and parcel of my life."

Until last year, he was waiting to emerge from the chrysalis. Today, post the success of Gangster, Shiney Ahuja has stepped out of his cocoon and is being touted as a complete package—Tall, fair and handsome with oodles of talent. After gritty turns in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and more recently Gangster, the newcomer is staking his claim to stardom. A cartel of film-makers are eagerly waiting to snap him up for their projects. At a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai, the attendant trappings of success are evident. News channels follow him like iron filings do a magnet. Also scheduled are a photo-shoot for a fanzine, meetings with bigwigs of the industry, interviews and more interviews. "I'm loving it," he says with a twinkle in his eyes, when he finally seats himself on the settee besides me hours later. "It feels great to be appreciated. Frankly, I knew people would like my work but I never expected this kind of response. And what's great is that the movie has got a wider audience. It's done fairly well all over. That's good." His brooding lean, mean machine role in Gangster, a rumoured take off on Abu Salem was indeed tough. More so, because Shiney didn't have more than a few lines of dia-logue to mouth in the film. The rest of course was left to his deft skills as an actor. He smiles, "In real life I'm not the brooding kind. So that was tough. It was difficult to play a character without much dialogue. I had to express my pain, my love and longing for my girl through expressions. Tough, but the best part is that I managed to do it quite well, if the reactions of the people are anything to go by. I had to be careful because the audience could easily hate the character." Ask him if the lack of dialogue made him insecure while shooting the film, especially because Emraan Hashmi had the more flamboyant role and he shakes his head. He clarifies that at the very outset the director, Anurag Basu, had apprised him about the role. "I knew I didn't have too many lines of dialogue. I'd still agreed to do the role so there was no question about being insecure. Because somewhere I knew the impact of my role," he smiles. "Though the role was tough, I'd etched my character in my mind. Once I under-stood the career graph I just took every scene as it came." Is he seriously saying he didn't feel shortchanged while working with Emraan, considering Emraan is family to the Bhatt camp while Shiney is a rank newcomer? "Yes, I'm say-ing that," he says his chin jutting out. "My problem is not that I'm insecure of others. My problem is that I'm insecure of myself. Each time I give a good shot I wonder whether I'll be able to do it again. After I did Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi I really wondered whether I could give such a performance again. Once you've scaled Mt Everest you are wracked with self-doubts whether you can repeat the feat." He denies rumours about tension between him and Emraan Hashmi. And states candidly that Emraan helped get in the initial audience. "The audience came to watch Emraan. I've no doubts about that," he concedes. "And I have no qualms about accepting that. Emraan is a good friend. He was very good to me on the sets, very sweet. Though he's a little reserved. But there was no rivalry between us. We had a great time working together. We'd be fooling around all the time." As we sit in the lobby chatting about a steady stream of people keep interrupting us. Shiney graciously submits to constant requests for autographs and photographs. If there's such a thing as a comfortable level of fame, he's found it here. Tell him that and he smiles, "This feels so good. The recognition is great. I'm truly happy that things have worked out for me so well. But the fact is that what you see is the contribution of the entire crew. People just see the actor they don't see die people who've contributed to the actor's success." Yet for boogey with fame, things are hotting up for the newcomer. First there was talk that he was unpopular in the Bhatt camp. Then he allegedly injured a co-actor while shooting on the sets of Woh Lamhe, which prompted Mahesh Bhatt to remark that Shiney takes realism in act-ing a bit too far. He takes a deep breath before answering. "What can I say to that?' he asks aloud. "It's damnirritating to hear that I belong to the realistic school of cin-ema, that I got carried away. Then I guess I should have used real bullets in the action sequences in Gangster. Ha! Ha! Ha!" Also insiders who know Shiney too well are spreading the word that he harbours a massive ATTITUDE. Shiney rub-bishes it as baseless. Says he, "I really don't know who's spreading such stories. Obviously these are people who aren't happy with my success. Tell me, if I was so unpopular in the Bhatt camp why would they sign me for two more projects— Woh Lamhe and Metro— after Gangster1. I get along very well with Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. Stories are spread by people who can't digest the fact that a boy from nowhere has ensconced himself in the Bhatt camp." Of course, he's annoyed with all the negative stories doing the rounds. He can't fathom why he's being targeted like this. He shrugs his shoulders and replies coolly, "It's like the road rage you experience on the highway when some-one overtakes you. The people who are talking are the ones I'm overtaking. I really don't have the time of day for such people. I have a lot on my plate and I'll be damned if I start giving importance to what every Tom, Dick and Harry has to say about me." Since we are in the business of making his business our business, might as well mention the gossip about him and director Ruchi Narain. Mention her name and his jaw tenses up in anger. "Some frustrated journalist concocted the story without knowing the facts and the rest of the media picked it up. And before I knew it every one was asking me about it. All I can say is it's a figment of a frustrated journalist's imagina-tion. Maybe it was the pressure of his job that made him do it. I don't know." He pauses and then explains further, "Have a heart, she is my director. We've started our careers from the same place. Ruchi is like a sister to me. It's sick to even imply anything else. It really disheartens me to read such baseless half-baked sto-ries. How can anyone write such stuff? It's beyond me. The people in the media have a responsibility to truth. I guess it's reflective of the person who wrote it." Thankfully, his wife Anu laughs off the macabre stories as a professional hazard. "She keeps pacifying and counseling me to keep my cool," he says with a reluctant smile. "She understands my profession and keeps telling me to get used to it. She's very patient. She's my rock." Shiney and his wife have worked out a long-distance relationship that's going swimmingly for them. While she shuttles between Chennai and the Big Apple as she works for a multinational company he's in Mumbai. "We handle it easi-ly," he says about the long-distance. "Of course I miss her like crazy. But she's a working woman. And her career is as important as mine. She's intelligent, has a bright future careerwise. Besides, 15 days in the month I'm out shooting. I can't expect her to give up her job and sit at home twiddling her thumbs waiting for me. By the way, Chennai isn't too far. Whenever we feel the need, we just zip across to meet each other. As far as we're concerned our marriage works very well for us." Personal life aside, Shiney just wants to concentrate on his budding career for the moment. He knows that getting on board is a lot easier than staying there. There's always the risk of missing a step. "You never arrive out here. For a newcomer like me it's the constant struggle to choose the right film, the right director and the right banner. But I'm not complaining. In a football match you can either crib about the fact that you have to run or you can get excited about making goal," says Shiney. Though he has miles to go before he reaches the apex of his career, Shiney is sure of one thing, that he's headed in the right direction. He remembers how his friends would sneer when he'd tell them he'd be an actor one day. "No one gave me an iota of a chance," he smiles today. "All my friends had lofty ideas about their future. I was the only one with dreams to become an actor. Know what? Those very friends today brag about my success. So I know I'm headed in the right direction. I've realised that it's perseverance, hard work and talent that will take you places. I'm a keen learner. So I know I'm on my way." Happy journey and happier landings then.

nelke: I plan to be around for 20 years: Shiney Ahuja [Interview by Subhash K. Jha] Saturday, May 07, 2005 Shiney Ahuja says he''s very different from the wheeler-dealer he played in Sudhir Mishra''s "Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi". "I wish I was like him. Maybe my career would''ve taken off in a big way by now. I''m idealistic about a lot of things, including my career. "I can''t socialize just to be noticed. The only reason I should be cast is because I suit the role. Believe me, this attitude finally earns you the film industry''s respect. I''m not looking at short-term gains. I plan to be around for 20 years." Shiney isn''t too happy with the way "Karam" shaped up. "When the film was narrated to me it was a two-hero film. That''s not how it turned out," Shiney told IANS in an interview. "My role was greatly reduced only because I was a newcomer. I protested to my director. But he told me the film was out of his control. You only have to see the length of my role in the script and what remains of it on screen. "The director Sanjay F. Gupta and I worked hard on making my cop's role different. None of that remains! I was given a list of scenes. John had 18-20. I had 12-13. So we were almost equals. I also had songs. None of that remained." Does Shiney blame his co-star John Abraham? "I honestly can't say. I don't know what happened. John is a wonderful person. I had jaundice during 'Karam'. He called a doctor and really looked after me. So I don't know... What I do know is finally I had only six-seven scenes in 'Karam'. "All my other films including the forthcoming 'Kal' have me in central roles. It's a film directed by Ruchi Narain. And it's totally about my character Tarun. Throughout you see me in coma. You'll see me on my feet in only five scenes. But they're so effective. "I also have Amit ('Jism') Saxena's 'Agar'. Here I play a very nice regular simple sweet guy. The wicked glint you see in 'Sins' and 'Hazaaron Khwahishein' is not me," chuckles the Delhi boy who had his formal education in Ranchi and Lucknow. "My Hindi is very good. That's an advantage among today's actors, isn't it?" Shiney has been happily married for four years now. "My wife Anu wants to stay out of the limelight. Both of us are nurturing my career right now. I'm ambitious and I want to be successful but not starry. Was he comfortable doing those steamy scenes in "Sins"? "I can't get judgmental about my characters. I can't let my conscience dictate my choice of roles. Personally I would never be caught with my pants down like my character... "As for the eyebrow-raising photo-session with my co-star Seema Rahmani (where he was in bed with his hand covering her breasts) I've to do my job. "The publicity isn't my look-out. As much as I disagree with the producer I've to do what's right for the film. So much money is invested in a film. I can't afford to be self-righteous. I can argue about my character. I can't argue about the publicity. I know nothing about it." Of the three films he has been seen in so far Shiney Ahuja has proved himself a newcomer who can tackle the most complex of characterizations with ease. He seems perfectly relaxed acquiring the reputation of a thinking actor so early in his career. "I've had one release a month in the last three months, all very different from one another. Whether it was the priest in 'Sins', the cop in 'Karam' or the morally compromised wheeler-dealer in 'Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi'... "They're all part of a larger design which I've devised for my career. I've actually been shooting for five films in the last two years. It's just a coincidence that three of them have come together." He's delighted at the chance to be so versatile so early in his career. "Especially 'Hazaaron Khwahishein' ... which was actually my first film." Shiney feels like an outsider in Bollywood. "But at the end of the day the industry does recognize true talent. That's why I never shy away from auditioning for roles. I can't understand why colleagues feel insulted. I love doing auditions even if I feel I'm not suitable for a role. "When I auditioned for my roles in 'Sins' or 'Hazaaron Khawhishein' I knew I was a different person from what I had to play. But because I had done 60-70 ads in a very short time, I had a clear insight into the character's psyche. When I auditioned I made sure they could see the character in me." Shiney has taken part in a lot of theatre workshops. "I guess that helped me do the complex roles in 'Sins' and 'Hazaaron Khwahishein' ... It is interesting how I got my character Vikram's role in Sudhir Mishra's film. I auditioned for K.K. Menon's part. "But I also read the lines of the other hero. They thought I was more like the wheeler-dealer Vikram than the idealist Siddharth. In real life I think I'm a bit of both."

Soniya: Shiney sings for the first time Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Friday, August 18, 2006] In his 6 film old career, Shiney Ahuja has garnered immense critical and commercial acclaim but has missed out on something that every Hindi film hero longs for - being a part of song'n'dance routine. His first release 'Sins' was an offbeat film with zero scope for songs while in 'Karam', he played the second lead to John Abraham and went song less. Subsequently came 'Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi' [actually the first film for which he shot] but even for this Sudhir Mishra film the songs appeared only in the background. 'Kal - Yesterday And Tomorrow' too had a similar story to tell while his musical hit 'Gangster' had the songs reserved for Emraan Hashmi with the best song 'Ya Ali' appearing only in the background. His 6th release was 'Fanaa' but well, it was an Aamir Khan film all the way. Now he has turned lucky in his 7th film 'Zindaggi Rocks' that is about to be released soon. For the first time in his career, he would be seen lip synching to the songs in this Tanuja Chandra musical which is a love story about a rock star [Sushmita Sen] and a cardiologist. With music by Anu Malik, the first song 'Meri Dhoop Hai Tu' presents Shiney in a new avtar as he sits pretty in bath tub with his two piece suit on!

wichy: Отсюда How did it feel to live the life of a gun-toting gangster? Actually though the film is titled Gangster it dwells more on the personal life of this guy, portraying him as a passionate lover than a gun-toting don. And how close is your don to Abu Salem? The script is drawn from the lives of 5-6 gangsters whose names for obvious reasons I can’t reveal. I read about them in the course of my research and none of them resembled Abu Salem though I don’t know too much about him. Every story is close to someone’s life and Gangster in parts could be my life. But as far as I can tell, it is not Salem’s story. What was Seoul like? Very cold and exciting. Technologically it’s a very progressive country but in the race for modernisation the Koreans haven’t let go of their roots. They’re very much in touch with their values and culture which in a strange way is remarkably like ours. Parts of Seoul are like Dubai’s concrete jungle, the sea reminscent of Mauritius and the red leaves gives it a nice Swiss touch. So the shoot was memorable? Very memorable in particular a night shoot at Seoul station. After 11 p.m. the station turns into a drunkard’s paradise and I’ve never seen so many different kinds of drunks together at one place. There were cops around brandishing batons but I never saw them actually use it on one of these bewdas. I guess it’s because many of them are IT professionals who’ve lost their brilliant jobs to the recession and today are drowning their failure in alcohol. The cops were really patient with them which was good given how sweet-natured some of them were. The scene had me injured and bruised with red make-up streaking my face. As I sat quietly trying to prepare for the moment one of the alcoholics sat down besides me and sympathetically extended a cream towards me indicating that I should apply it on my wounds. The situation only got more heart-warmingly amusing when numb from the cold, I requested Anuraag to punch me around a bit so I would be able to emote. As he charged towards me, the drunk who had befriended me, suddenly came between us, clinging to me protectively, little realising that it was all play-acting and we were shooting for a movie. There’ve been some recent stories in the press about how you “hurt Kangana’s lips”. (Agitatedly) It wasn’t intentional. The shot required me to stand in front of Kangana and then at one point protectively spin towards her. She had been instructed to stand 4-5 feet behind me. We were okay through three takes, and then she suddenly drew closer and was barely six inches away when I whirled. My elbow hit her face and opened up a fresh injury that she had sustained when undergoing a recent plastic surgery to get a scar she’d had since childhood removed. There was a lot of bleeding. I got ice and took her to her van. She was fine in two days. I wish this story, even if it was just a publicity exercise, had not come out. I had my share of accidents too and I’ve never spoken of them. The only thing that has changed is that people now listen to me when I talk What accidents? Well, there was this scene that required me to jump through a window. Kangana had to wait about 30 seconds before opening the window and looking out. By the time I should have landed safely but she didn’t quite catch on and flung open the window and crashed into me when I was still in mid-air, 6-8 feet from the ground. I was injured very badly and could have broken my neck. But for me it was just an inadvertent accident. Your next release will be Yashraj’s Fanaa with Aamir Khan and Kajol. It’s only a special appearance but I’m quite excited about Fanaa. It was a very good experience working with Yashraj. We shot in Poland which was really cold but a beautiful country. Aamir and I got along very well. Perhaps because both of you are such perfectionists and passionate about your work? Perhaps. Ninety per cent of the people here are only interested in finishing a film so they can start on another. Acting for them is all about making money and delivering hits. For me though it’s all about living someone else’s life and though I have often been accused of being too intense I believe that I’m no more serious than any committed professional. You’ve never heard of a neuro surgeon belly dancing during an operation, have you? So why should I be pulled up because I want to push myself. I believe that if your work is good it shouldn’t matter to anyone how you got there. How’s Rockin shaping up? Rockin is complete and shooting with Sushmita who plays a singer in the film was a wonderful experience. She’s warm, friendly and lights up the set. It was a totally new role for me with lots of different shades. How does it feel to be playing Mahesh Bhatt in Woh Lamhe whose life has always been an open book. (Smiling) That’s what makes the film more interesting. Even though it’s about the Parveen Babi chapter in his life, it’s a very contemporary film. The guy I’m playing is young and ambitious and in a lot of ways is as much like me as he is like Bhattsahab. Any other projects in hand? There’s Sudhir Mishra’s film for which I start shooting in September. Between Sudhir’s film and Woh Lamhe I’ll do one film but still have to decide on it. After a long struggle you swept all the debut awards this year and finally appear to be on the road to success. Hasn’t life changed dramatically? Not really though I will always be grateful to Screen that was my debut with the debut awards (Chuckles). I still frequent the same gym, drive the same car and go to the same juicewallah. And I still don’t attend Page 3 parties to make sure that my face is seen. The only thing that has changed is that now people listen to me when I talk. There was a time when only Mr Nandy (Pritish) would talk to me and encourage me saying things would change for me, soon. Today, suddenly I’ve become someone very profound and intelligent. (Smiling) Now it’s not so easy to negate what I say.

wichy: По-моему, не было такого интервью: отсюда --> для любителей - там можно скачать такие обои: 'The loudest way to tell the world to shut up is to show results' goes a saying. Actor Shiney Ahuja has proved it right and is a name that needs no introduction now. His work speaks volumes...He speaks about beauty, India, his likes, dislikes etc... Most cherished moments of your school or college days? It was when I got my first bike. My dad had told me that if I was able to get the required grades in my 12th boards, he would buy me a bike and it was an investment he was pretty sure he would not have to make. I guess I surprised both him and myself. Your take on black magic, superstitions and ghosts? I am not superstitious. As for black magic and ghosts, I am not sure I can negate their presence. While there is no evidence that proves their existence, there is no evidence that proves that they do not exist. Beauty or brains? I think that it is natural human instinct to want and admire physical beauty. And, it definitely opens doors, particularly in my profession. However, there is a power in knowledge and the ability to use that knowledge that truly makes one happy. I think if I had to choose between physical beauty and this happiness, I would have to choose knowledge, with all due respect and gratefulness for 'Beauty' - a joy forever! If you could change one thing about India, what would it be and why? Education system - Rather by rote, our education system should allow for interactive sessions where students are given the platform to think and apply knowledge. Also, we should have emphasis and opportunities provided for what is termed extracurricular activities - sports/drama/music etc because we have an amazing pool of talent, and our education system should be geared to liberate it to its full potential. Would you ever join politics? Not in the foreseeable future Your dream destination? Is there a destination? I believe that once we reach one goal post, the next one beckons us. Life is a beautiful journey. One thing you like about Mumbai? People Do u believe in rebirth? Yes What's your take on pollution? It is not the government's problem...it is each of ours. I believe we all have to do our bit. What is sense of humor to you? Dry... Favorite quote or mantra? Forgiveness sets you free. One thing you can't live without? My wife. Craziest or weirdest thing that you've ever done? Nothing as yet. Your first date? Was long back! The Last book that you read? The Da Vinci code. Spirituality to you means... Living and letting live. Last time you took a cab? Two days back. Last time you went to a sabzi mandi? Don't remember. Last time you cooked? Yesterday! Last time you fought with someone? Don't remember. One thing that you like about people? It is forthrightness and an open mind. Turn off? Hypocrisy and pretension. Turn on? A heart-warming smile. Most prized possession? My book titled "On Acting" by Sanford Meisner. Your weakness? Food. Strength? Knowing my weakness. You are crazy about? Cars/Gadgets. Favorite food? Indian.

wichy: One thing you can't live without? My wife Утибожемой... :-) Your weakness? Food. Strength? Knowing my weakness. Прикольно :-) Last time you cooked? Yesterday!

wichy: Еще одно интервью: тоже с glamsham --> Practically every release has a new entrant but this aspiring actor is a man with a difference. Every actor has his tryst with destiny and Shiney Ahuja is no exception but what distinguishes this 'shining' star from other performers in his league, is his ability to stay unfazed and unperturbed by the 24 hour on-the-run schedules and the controversies surrounding him. So here's the very exhilarating actor himself... Who thought of your unconventional name? My father. As he says, when he first looked at me, he felt that while his name was Suraj, the real 'shine' came into his life with me! While several folks told me to change my name to a more conventional one, my emotional bond with this name turned out to be stronger. What is that one thing according to you that sells in Bollywood? Controversy for the sake of controversy! Is it very difficult for an actor (coming from a non filmy background) to carve a niche for himself? Yes. A star kid comes with many benefits. One, he has an access to the best production houses, scripts, co-stars and guidance. Two, the road is not unknown, the doors are not locked and the journey therefore is a lot easier. However, if one has the talent, the right personality, the attitude and the grit and determination to succeed, nothing can stop him from realizing his dreams. Though the road to stardom is challenging, it is rewarding. Bollywood's history is dotted with several such amazing stories of success which is why this industry is magical. Do you really consider Sudhir Mishra as your God father? This is the industry that has given me the opportunity to live my dreams, to do what I do best - act. It's an industry that has built several lives, it tests you in every way, your courage, your value systems, and your faith while tempting you with the heights of success that no other industry can possibly match. I love and look up to this industry for everything it stands for and for everything it has to offer. My first step into Bollywood was through Sudhir and today I look up to him for guidance, whenever I feel the need. A gifted director, an objective human being, a realist and a survivor...I could not have asked for a better friend and mentor. What is your source of inspiration? My spiritual belief's. Tell us something about your wife? All I can say is she is God's gift to me. Your best performance till date? Vikram in HAZAARON KHWAISHEIN AISI. What is spirituality to you? That there is divinity in each of us and to live and let live. Are you brand conscious? Yes. Would you do an endorsement if offered? Barring tobacco ads, and depending on the product, yes. Any dream role that you want to execute? Brad Pitt in SEVEN. Tell us something about your childhood and college days? Childhood and college days were the proverbial best days of my life. I recall several stories of escaping with my dad's car, getting the grades to get my first bike from my dad and girlfriend(s) ofcourse. Where were you born and brought up? I was born in Dehradun. Since my dad was in the Army, I would say I was brought up almost all over the country. The longest period was in Delhi. So I guess, you can say I was brought up in Delhi. How was it like working with a female director for the first time in ZINDAGGI ROCKS? I cannot comment on the film at this point. However, Tanuja has been a pleasure to work with. I don't know if it typically is the case with female directors, but she had the knack of creating a very congenial and warm working atmosphere. We literally felt like family where each member was treated with respect and made to feel special. Patience, the willingness to listen and constant encouragement to her actors are some of Tanuja's most outstanding traits as a director. What about your other forthcoming films? Besides ZINDAGGI ROCKS, I am currently working on Mahesh Bhatt's film WOH LAMHE directed by Mohit Suri. I am also doing Sudhir Mishra's BAHUT NIKLE MERE ARMAAN. I have also done a special appearance in FANAA, there were two simple reasons for this. First, it was a Yash Raj Film and secondly, when Kunal Kohli narrated the script to me, he said my name was Suraj and that I was a Major in the Indian Army posted in Kashmir. That is my dad. I requested him to change the last name to 'Ahuja' which he did and I immediately accepted the offer. Other than this, I am currently involved in an ongoing discussion for four more projects. What provokes you to sign a film? It is a character driven script, good director and a good story that excites me the most which if produced by a big banner, increases its chances of being a success in a big way. Any regrets in life? None! Any advice to new comers? I don't know if I know enough and I don't know if there are any rules. However, I do know that the basic ingredients of success... Talent, personality, patience and perseverance. And no one can set rules for your success because it is ultimately your journey. Lastly any message for your fans? Yes, I want to thank all of my fans for believing in me and my work. You inspire me to do my best everytime I work. I will try my best to not let you down!

wichy: I am also doing Sudhir Mishra's BAHUT NIKLE MERE ARMAAN. I am currently involved in an ongoing discussion for four more projects.

The thought of playing Bhootnath in Rituparno Ghosh's adaptation of "Saheb Bibi Aur Ghulam" gives Shiny Ahuja a huge high. "Yes, Rituparno Ghosh has spoken to me, though we haven't met," Shiny told IANS. Ghosh is keen to have Shiny play Bhootnath - essayed in the original by Guru Dutt - but the actor is non-committal. "Yes, Ritu has shown interest in casting me as Bhootnath. And I've worked with the same producer Pritish Nandy in my first film 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'. It'd be a pleasure to do a classic so early in my career," he added. Shiny's career is "Rocking". That's the title of the film he has signed opposite Sushmita Sen that Tanuja Chandra will direct and Anurradha Prasad will produce. He has already worked with one female director Ruchi Narain in "Kal" and is set to be Chandra's hero in "Rocking". "It is the story of a relationship between a rock star played by Sushmita and a doctor, that's me. And contrary to the title, 'Rocking' doesn't refer to Sushmita," he's quick to add, for the fear of being branded a supporting actor in a ladies' movie. In fact, Shiny is currently in Seoul shooting for Anurag Basu's "Gangster" that revolves around him and Emran Hashmi. "I play the title role in 'Gangster'. This is Anurag Basu's pet project, the one he has been working on for a year. Yes, Sanjay Dutt was considered. I'm flattered to have been chosen for an out-and-out action film where I play the title role." Shiny has been doing yoga to master the art of patient perseverance. "I'll have to hang on cable wires for minutes. That requires a lot of willpower. Yoga will help me do that." He co-stars with a new actress called Kangana. "But what really excites is that I'm part of the first Indian film to be shot in Seoul. I like to be where new things are happening. I feel both my films so far 'Hazaaron Khwashien Aisi' and 'Kal' broke the mould, got away from traditional filmmaking to probe and experiment the human psyche in a novel manner. That's the kind of cinema I believe in. And yet I also want to be where the action is. That's where 'Gangster' comes." Shiny sees it as his chance for fame, glamour and mainstream stardom. "Of course, I want all of that. Who doesn't? I'm working towards it." So happy is Anurag Basu with his hero that he has already decided to work with him in a film called "Metro", loosely based on the Meryl Streep-Robert de Niro romance "Falling In Love". "I don't know if that's the source," shrugs Shiny. "But, yes, it's about two married people who fall in love on the metro." The actor seems to have become quite a favourite with the Bhatts. After the Bhatt production "Gangster", Shiny will do another film for Mukesh Bhatt. "I feel I'm cruising down the runway. My career is about to take off." After returning from Seoul, Shiny says he leaves for Los Angeles to negotiate a Hollywood project. "It's an Italian American filmmaker whose cinema is on the lines of what Martin Scorsese makes. I think he saw 'Hazaar Khwaishein..." and wants me for his film."

Четвертое интервью с glamsham.com Shiney Ahuja says he's very different from the wheeler-dealer he played in Sudhir Mishra's "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi". "I wish I was like him. Maybe my career would've taken off in a big way by now. I'm idealistic about a lot of things, including my career. "I can't socialize just to be noticed. The only reason I should be cast is because I suit the role. Believe me, this attitude finally earns you the film industry's respect. I'm not looking at short-term gains. I plan to be around for 20 years." Shiney isn't too happy with the way "Karam" shaped up. "When the film was narrated to me it was a two-hero film. That's not how it turned out," Shiney told IANS in an interview. "So far after three releases I'm still the same guy I used to be. I feel humbled by the praise for 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'." Was he comfortable doing those steamy scenes in "Sins"? Whether it was the priest in 'Sins', the cop in 'Karam' or the morally compromised wheeler-dealer in 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'. "They're all part of a larger design which I've devised for my career. I've actually been shooting for five films in the last two years. It's just a coincidence that three of them have come together." He's delighted at the chance to be so versatile so early in his career. "Especially 'Hazaaron Khwaishein'... which was actually my first film." Shiney feels like an outsider in Bollywood. "But at the end of the day the industry does recognize true talent. That's why I never shy away from auditioning for roles. I can't understand why colleagues feel insulted. I love doing auditions even if I feel I'm not suitable for a role. "When I auditioned for my roles in 'Sins' or 'Hazaaron Khwaishein' I knew I was a different person from what I had to play. But because I had done 60-70 ads in a very short time, I had a clear insight into the character's psyche. When I auditioned I made sure they could see the character in me." Shiney has taken part in a lot of theatre workshops. "I guess that helped me do the complex roles in 'Sins' and 'Hazaaron Khwaishein' ... It is interesting how I got my character Vikram's role in Sudhir Mishra's film. I auditioned for K.K. Menon's part. "But I also read the lines of the other hero. They thought I was more like the wheeler-dealer Vikram than the idealist Siddharth. In real life I think I'm a bit of both."

wichy: "My role was greatly reduced only because I was a newcomer. I protested to my director. But he told me the film was out of his control. You only have to see the length of my role in the script and what remains of it on screen Сония, ты про это интервью тогда говорила, что он сильно жалится, что его роль в Караме порезали??? wichy: Shiney sheds real tears in 'Zindaggi Rocks' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IANS Upcoming actor Shiney Ahuja, who plays a doctor in "Zindaggi Rocks", sheds real tears for an emotional scene. When director Tanuja Chandra asked Shiney, who is known for his dedication, to use glycerine he refused. However he assured her that there would be tears and, sure enough, the minute the camera rolled tears rolled down Shiney's cheeks. Chandra captured the touching moment executed beautifully by the actor - that ironically brought a smile on the faces of the unit members. Produced by BAG Films "Zindaggi Rocks" also stars Sushmita Sen who plays a rock star in the film and Shiney's love interest.

When Shiney had a great fall... By: Sandipan Dalal September 20, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shiney Ahuja Recently, a loud thud at Shiney Ahuja’s suburban apartment, in the wee hours of the morning, jolted his household attendants out of their sleep. To their relief, it wasn’t a burglar breaking into the house but a groggy-eyed Shiney who had rolled off his bed and was lying on the floor! However, Ahuja is not visibly embarrassed. “These cute little things keep happening in my life. And I keep having a good laugh over them,” he says. We gather that the actor holds a record in falling off his bed since his toddler days. In fact, his parents vouch for this, saying ever since he was a child he’s been surrounded by a good number of pillows to prevent him from falling off! Pillow talk Shiney explains, “I had just come back from my brief visit to the United States and all my cushions and pillows had gone for dry cleaning. That night, I just had a small pillow to rest my head. I have this habit of rolling all over the bed while sleeping and I didn’t even realise when I was lying on the floor. Instead of helping me, my guys at home were busy laughing.” Ever since, Ahuja has been limping as he sustained injuries on his hipbone. “Thank god it’s not serious though. There’s a blood clot on my hipbone and I’ve been facing difficulty while walking and exercising.” Pleasure trip The actor has just returned from a mini-vacation in the United States and is presently travelling across the country to promote his forthcoming film, Woh Lamhe. “It was really a pleasure trip. I had a string of appearances to make across New York, Manhattan and other places. What struck me was that I have finally earned some fans for myself. There were a lot of Pakistani fans who kept humming Ya Ali (Gangster) as I walked past them.” As for work, he starts filming for Sudhir Mishra’s Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan, which traces the lives of an emerging writer and a leading actress in the ’50s, in the coming week.

Jee: The Man Behind the Women By MovieTalkies.com, 20 September 2006 Shiney Ahuja has become one of the most sought out new actors in the industry, but we made a small, interesting observation in regards to the films he has signed. Coincidentally (or not) most of Shiney’s films have been womam centric. Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi revolved more on Chitrangada Singh, whereas Gangster was told from Kangana Ranaut’s perspective. Now both of his upcoming films, Zindaggi Rocks and Who Lamhe have strong female central characters who Shiney supports. Zindaggi Rocks revolves around Sushmita Sen and her life as a Rockstar and the personal sacrifice she chooses to make while Who Lamhe sees Kangana Ranaut enacting a character based on Pareveen Babi. We can’t help but wonder why Shiney is letting the women overpower him, or is it that he feels his films will only be accepted by the audiences if he plays second fiddle to his leading ladies?

wichy: Jee пишет: Shiney is letting the women overpower him, or is it that he feels his films will only be accepted by the audiences if he plays second fiddle to his leading ladies?

Кста, новенькое интересненькое небольшое интервью Грузиново: отсюда, как всегда--> “I did not want Mahesh Bhatt’s character to look like a caricature. So I avoided the physicality of his character” – Shiny Ahuja By Reshma Kelkar (IndiaFM News Bureau), September 27, 2006 - 09:00 IST Shiny Ahuja is on a career high these days. After getting noticed in Gangster, he is once again in news for Mohit Suri’s Woh Lamhe, where his character is based on Mahesh Bhatt. Apparently Shiny has never been the first choice of his directors but became hot favorite subsequently. In the case of Woh Lamhe, Mohit Suri had approached his cousin brother Emraan Hashmi to play Mahesh Bhatt. But when Emraan refused, Shiny came into picture. Nevertheless it doesn’t matter to Shiny as far as his role is good. “I have never been the first choice of any of my films, not even for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Gangster. Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar was considered for my role in Gangster. And I was frequently asked whether he could have acted better than me? I feel if he can act better than me, I can bowl faster than him.” I feel, if Shoaib Akhtar can act better than me, I can bowl faster than him. There is no doubt that Shiny has managed to amaze his directors by his outstanding performance in each movie. He says, “I was always a second choice of my directors, but then they used to tell me that I was the best choice and they would cast me again in their next film.” So while his mentor Sudhir Mishra has signed him for his forthcoming film Bahut Nikle Mere Armaa; after Gangster Anurag Basu is directing him in his forthcoming film Metro. Vishesh Films have also repeated him in Woh Lamhe. “When you've worked with someone, automatically there is a comfort level. If I do a film with another filmmaker I will be slotted there.” says Shiny, who is currently working with filmmaker Priyadrashan on Chandramukhi where he plays an NRI doctor. Shiny was appreciated for his intense roles in HKA and Gangster. Does it mean that he enjoys playing such characters? “These characters were hard hitting and I enjoyed playing them. It was obviously not an easy task and it was like a challenge for me. I feel intensity is a strong conviction towards the emotions, the characters are feeling that time.” Coming back to Woh Lamhe he says, “I play a young director, who is selfish and ruthless and his only aim is to reach on top. This is about how he manipulates the success of the actress Sana Azmi and finally falls in love with her. As its title suggests, it is about those moments of their life.” I feel if the audience can understand what Mr Bhatt went through during that phase of his life, my job is done. Since he plays Mahesh Bhatt in this movie, wasn’t it tough for him to play the real life character, moreover who is associated with the project and even supervising it? “Yes it was. It’s a great responsibility to play a real life character in a film, esp. when he is the creative head of the company. And I did not want this character to look like a caricature. So I avoided the physicality of his character; rather I played this character with heart. I feel if the audience can understand what Mr Bhatt went through during that phase of his life, my job is done.” he adds.

wichy: отсюда -->> “No one does charity here” By Taran Adarsh, October 5, 2006 - 09:00 IST Shiney Ahuja is the flavor of the season. After winning tremendous acclaim for his performances in GANGSTER and WOH LAMHE…, Shiney is being considered for the best of projects these days. In fact, if there’s one newcomer who’s carved a niche in a relatively short span, it’s Shiney. But success comes with its share of controversies. And the rumor doing the rounds of the industry is that Shiney is charging an exorbitant fee [Rs. 1 crore] per film. “Is that what people are saying?” Shiney asks, when I confront him with the rumor, “I really don’t want to discuss my remuneration in public, but if I am being offered an ‘x’ amount by producers, who am I to complain?” Please elaborate. “Post-GANGSTER, offers have been pouring in every day. Obviously, you can’t do all the films offered to you. Sometimes, you refuse a film by quoting a ridiculous price, but if the producer is ready to pay that amount, is it right to blame the actor for it? And why should I refuse money? Won’t it be foolish on my part if I did so?” Shiney states. Shiney recounts the days when he had no work on hand. “It was tough. Extremely frustrating. But things changed after GANGSTER. Believe me, I haven’t hiked my price at all. I am quoting what I deserve. And if the producers are cool with it, why this hullabaloo? After all, no one does charity here.” Point noted!

wichy: отсюда -->>> Shiney-Soha to play Guru Dutt-Waheeda? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bollywood Trade News Network Sudhir Mishra's forthcoming film BAHUT NIKLE MERE ARMAAN stars Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan. As per reports in a daily, the film has the duo playing a director and actor respectively, While Shiney will essay the character of legendary Guru Dutt, Soha plays the beautiful Waheeda Rehman. The film is set in 1950's and is Mishra's take on the film industry. Vidya Balan was the original choice for Soha's role. 'The film is about spirited, bohemian people who put their personal wealth and studios at stake to make films. The characters of my film are not based on specific actors. I have drawn references from the lives of directors and actors in that period who were emotionally attached to films. My film is a homage to them,' Mishra was quoted as saying earlier. Shiney's character is called Zafar, the writer-director and Soha is Nikhat, the dancer-actor. Incidentally Shiney's debut film HAZAARON KHWAISHEIN AISI was also directed by his mentor Sudhir Mishra.

wichy: Shiney Ahuja's Shark tale By: Vickey Lalwani October 18, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shiney Ahuja has been appointed the brand ambassador for the vodka drink Shark Tooth (from the house of Diageo) in India. The actor shot for his first brand endorsement in Dubai for four days last week. Bagging the ad Shiney recounts his meeting with Diageo’s brand manager. “He was outside my room at Taj Land’s End during the music launch of Zindaggi Rocks. My manager said that someone had come to see me from Diageo and was waiting outside. I asked him why he had called him to the music launch. My manager said that the person who was waiting was Diageo’s brand manager. I told him, ‘Are you mad?! Call him straight in’!” “That gentleman had done his homework before he came to meet me. He had seen my films and knew almost everything about my work. He said I was a shark, and hence, the right choice for the brand. He convinced me within five minutes,” he adds. Shiney says he has no problem endorsing a liquor brand. “If I were a teetotaller, I might have thought for a while. But I do enjoy the occasional drink,” he says. The actor even claims to have tasted the liquor he will be promoting. “I have tasted it and it has the bite,” he says with a mischievous smile. Shiney adds that the brand is very much like him. “It signifies independence, free will and goes straight for the kill without paying heed to norms — exactly what I did in Bollywood — breaking all the rules.” Treading carefully On the film front, Shiney has been riding high after Woh Lamhe. Says the actor, “From here on, I’m going to be extremely careful about the selection of my roles.” Ahuja has just signed the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Chandramukhi, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. There’s also Anurag Basu’s Metro with Kangana Ranaut and Shilpa Shetty, Sudhir Mishra’s next Khoya Khoya Chand (earlier titled Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan). отсюда - сенькс Jee за наводку :-) Шайни - наш человек!!! wichy: Не знаю, может, постил кто без меня - небольшое интервью с Грузином с glamsham.com Actor Shiney Ahuja shrugs off rumours of starry behaviour, saying he is an "outsider doing his best to survive in the showbiz jungle". "I heard I was throwing my weight around, making constant demands on the sets, asking for juice constantly as though I am some kind of a juice monster. I do have juice on sets, but what's so starry about that?" asks Shiney, whose debut film "Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi" fetched him critical acclaim. "As for my staff, please ask them if I ever throw my weight around. I even heard that (director) Sudhir Mishra is fed up of my behaviour on the sets of my new film when, in fact, he has been and continues to be my biggest supporter," Shiney told IANS. About alleged differences with "Woh Lamhe" co-star Kangana Ranaut, he says: "I've no problems with Kangana at all. You'll have to ask her if she has a problem with me. In fact, life couldn't get any better for me. So many things have come up simultaneously. I'm shooting non-stop till April-end. "There's no friction from my end. Kangana is my co-star in two films. I feel we get along quite well. But she said something in an article that really surprised me. Whenever we're together, we're very comfortable with each other. It's best to keep things pleasant because you never know if you'll work together again." He says: "I've done enough films for sentimental reasons. Now I need to take some hard career decisions. My new film for T Series with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan - to be directed by Priyadarshan - is my first step towards more commercial cinema. I suddenly have people coming to me with viable projects." Shiney's career couldn't get shinier. He had two releases "Woh Lamhe" and "Zindaggi Rocks" on two consecutive Fridays. But he wasn't nervous. "I just took off to Dubai to shoot my first ad."

Shiney reacts on rumors of his extra-marital affair By Subhash K. Jha, December 20, 2006 - 06:52 IST Call it ironical. But the story of Shiney's extra-marital affair broke out on the day of his marriage anniversary. "What a day to choose for such a link-up. My wife Anu who's in New York, was naturally shocked when I spoke to her about it. It was very embarrassing … and painful. More so since I was being linked with a woman who's senior to me and someone I respect for her professionalism," says Shiney who's currently shooting with Soha Ali Khan in Goa for Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand. Shiney takes a deep breath. "I feel very bad for my publicist Tanuja with whom I'm linked. Mujhe to aadat pad gayi hai. I'm used to link-ups. I can handle it. She was almost in tears." He brightens up. "Now we're here in Goa for twenty days. Soha is fun to have on the sets, and very intelligent. I guess it's her inheritance. I've inherited the capacity to love from my parents. And I've passed it all to my wife. She's the only woman in my life. Talk about link-ups has no effect on my marriage. Anu is a marketing head of a huge corporation. She understands how these things work." Shiney admits long-distance marriages such as his are more prone to speculations. "Absolutely! If she was here with me, my fidelity would never be questioned. I'm not that kind of a guy. I don't socialize. I hardly talk to people beyond my work. I'm the last person to have affairs. A producer of mine has a believable theory on these rumours. He says, people dig up dirt because I am here and my wife is there. That space is filled up with imaginary romance." Shiney's wife is likely to find more time for him. "Anu has now quit her job and started her own business there in New York. Which means she'll be able to spend more time here with me. I also visit her as often as possible. In fact I was with her in New York last month. We went on a cruise together." Shiney's has been given an ultimatum by his wife. "I've to get our house renovation done before she comes the next time. I had given up the task because I couldn't take all the dirt and dust in the house. But now I've no choice but to wade through the difficult process."

Shiney Ahuja walks out of Goldie Behl's Drona By IndiaFM News Bureau, January 3, 2007 - 07:21 IST Shiney has walked out of Goldie Behl’s film Drona which is also to star Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. His role will now be played by Kay Kay Menon. Shiney says that he has quit the film because he was offered a negative role and doesn’t want to play a negative character. However, according to sources, the real reason for Shiney’s refusal was the fear that he might be overshadowed in the film. Shiney learnt that Abhishek and Goldie were friends and therefore there are chances of Abhishek stealing all the focus and Shiney ending up as his sidekick. Shiney however, laughs it off and says that he had refused soon enough so that a new actor could be roped in. Drona will be Goldie Behl’s second directorial venture. His first film Bas Itna Sa Khwaab also starred Abhishek Bachchan but bombed badly at the Box Office.

wichy: отсюда 'I don't care what people say' Shiney Ahuja has a reputation. Many industry insiders had warned me that he is arrogant and brash. They had said he always gives the costume department a hard time; that he is very moody... So, I wasn't really looking forward to a freewheeling chat. But I was in for a surprise. "Some tags just stay," said Shiney, who, I must say, was not at all like what I had been warned about. "To convenience themselves people slot you in a particular type and then everything you do is turned around to fit the image they have created. I frankly don't care what people say. I am doing my work with the passion and dedication needed and will continue to do so." Laughing away the controversy of being thrown out of producer Samir Sheth's Fame, he said, "I never signed Fame. I did not like the script, so I declined to act in it. About Drona, I did not know Abhishek Bachchan was acting in it. All I knew was a that they were offering me a negative role which I did not want to do." For a guy who came to Mumbai with Rs 16,000, two t-shirts and jeans, worked in umpteen ad films and waited for three years for his first feature film to release, Shiney seems to be doing well now. He owns an apartment in a western suburb of Mumbai. He has not yet made it to the Bollywood A-list, but is climbing his way from the festival poster boy image to a saleable actor with successes like Woh Lamhe and Gangster under his belt. His upcoming films Khoya Khoya Chand -- with director Sudhir Mishra, who gave him his first break with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi -- and Anurag Basu's Metro also look promising. In a candid conversation, the green-eyed Shiney talks about his career so far. I find it strange that you did nothing but wait even while Hazaaron took three years to release. I shouldn't have [waited]? What would you have done? For three years every month they would say it's going to release next month. I was very confident of the film, so I waited. The moment I would think of doing something else they said next month we are starting the publicity. They released the song Bawra Man on television and the promos of the film started twice. They were trying to send it to the festivals first and were themselves trying to make up their mind on how they wanted to release the film. I am very impatient but I wanted Hazaaron to be my first film. I think I did the right thing by waiting. But was not Sins (top) your first movie to release? Yes it was. Two-and-a-half years after shooting Hazaaron the script of Sins came along. It was based on a true story -- an excellent character to play but not executed correctly. That's not in my control. The only thing I can read is the script. I still say the script was great. It did not turn out the way it was expected. But thankfully within in a month after that Hazaaron released. While waiting for the film to release did you not feel disillusioned with the industry? Did you feel like giving up? I was just hoping that the film releases fast. There is an element of frustration that comes in while you are waiting -- sitting at home and just waiting for your film to release. I went through that but then I am generally a positive person by nature and that kept me going. I felt whenever the time is right the film will release. I don't belong to the film industry and I knew I am not going to get some 20 opportunities to prove myself to be an actor or a star. I was quite realistic about Hazaaron not getting me any commercial success. I knew critical acclaim is possible. All I wanted from Hazaaron was a commercial film that I got eventually. All the directors I have worked with want to repeat me. It's me who decides whether I want to work with them or not. Some directors -- who I know I won't work with them -- say in their interviews, 'I don't want to cast Shiney.' But have you asked Shiney if he wants to work with you? It's like me saying I will never work with Steven Spielberg. Is the negativity around you the reason you get irritated and shut yourself? Yes it is one of the reasons I shut myself. It's hard to concentrate on your work otherwise and that's pretty much the intention of people who do this. I am not willing to give this up for anything. There is nothing that comes between my work and me. Nothing. Everybody around me knows that. That's common between my director Sudhir Mishra and me. I don't come between him and his shot. And there is nothing that can come between my performance and me. People say you throw tantrums on sets. There was a report about me drinking only juice on the sets. I was recovering from typhoid and my doctor told me to drink juice. How can this be termed a tantrum? My staff loves me like anything. They will do anything for me. What I have realised is irrespective of all the negative stories that are coming up, the film offers are only getting better. How do I equate that? When I meet people and they say they are taken by my work. It's amazing to know how well people connect with my character emotionally on screen. Whoever has known or interacted with me talk to that person. If I refuse a film the person is only going to say bad things about me. I can only do four-five films a year at this point of time. Eventually I am not going to do that many also. I am accepting four or five from 20 offers. When I say no, people build stories. But you are in the news for all the wrong reasons all the time. Sometimes people just like to write things about certain people. Because I am such a private person and I don't divulge too much information they still want to write things. That's one way of provoking you to say something. Keep writing bad things about you till you react. I choose to ignore it. I talk to journalists who don't believe in selling their paper through gossip or are not a part of this kind of media. While I am shooting if I have to keep thinking about these kind of things it really irritates you. It's like someone is constantly trying to pull you down. I don't have any enemies. When you are on your way to a certain goal there are hindrances that come your way and not everyone is happy with your success. People used to tell me you might have to face this but now that I have to face things I believe it. I used to wonder why would anyone waste his or her time in trying to put me down? There is no clarity about the status of your marriage. I have spoken about it so many times but the same question keeps coming up. There is crystal clear clarity. Someone creates a controversy about you. By giving explanations you keep feeding to it. I refuse to comment on it any more. How comfortable are you doing lovemaking scenes on screen (a scene with him and Soha Ali Khan was being shot before the interview)? It's a part of my job and it's good to work with an actress who also considers it the same way. We think about the role, the shot, how we can make it better -- just like any other shot. There is nothing I feel at any point of time while doing such scenes because you have to concentrate on what you are doing.

nelke: с Indiaglitz Shiney Ahuja : Touching moments of my life Faridoon Shahryar, IndiaGlitz [Monday, February 05, 2007] The newly launched radio channel BIG FM brought smiles on the faces of children at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, as the country observed the ‘World Cancer Day’ this week. A special charity party was hosted for kids, engaging them in interesting games like Antakshari with RJs Anirudh and Baburao. RJ Nitin (famous as 'Nakli No.1') also put up some great mimic acts that had the kids rolling in laughter. To add to the excitement, actor Shiney Ahuja and ‘Rang De Basanti’ director Rakeysh Mehra took part in the festivities playing with kids and entertaining them. “When I agreed to participate in this event, I least realized that it would give me some of the most touching moments of my life,” quipped Shiney, as he hugged all the kids and loved their innocence. As the momentum caught up, even the children's parents and hospital staff began participating in the fun and frolic, thrilled to have someone come over and bring smiles to their faces.

The tortured togetherness portrayed by actors Shiney Ahuja and Kangana Ranaut in "Gangster" and "Woh Lamhe" may be officially over with the stars allegedly turning into sworn enemies. The rancour began with Anurag Basu's unabashed favouritism on the sets of "Gangster". "The director took it upon himself to make Kangana the most sensational debutante since Kareena Kapoor in 'Refugee'. He saw the potential in her and groomed and instructed her on every shot and nuance," a source told IANS. "Naturally, Anurag's open partiality for his leading lady didn't go down well with the rest of the cast, specially Shiney, who felt cheated as he was playing the title role in 'Gangster'," he added. "Shiney would openly try to distract Kangana during shots, crack a joke into her ears just before she had to do a breakdown scene... Kangana didn't catch on during 'Gangster'. But by the time the two came together to do their next film, she was completely clued into Shiney's games of one-upmanship." Unfortunately for Shiney, Kangana gave another mind-blowing performance in "Woh Lamhe" and completely overshadowed him again. By the end of "Gangster", the new-age Shabana Azmi-Naseeruddin Shah pair was barely exchanging a hello on the sets. And during "Woh Lamhe", they ceased to talk to each other completely. There is little chance then of Shiney and Kangana coming together again on screen.

Akshay Kumar started it, Salman Khan followed it and now Shiney Ahuja is latest to join the bang wagon of stars opting for bikes to avoid traffic jams in the busy crowded streets in Mumbai. Take this incident for instance. Recently during the shooting of Sudhir Mishra's Khoya Khoya Chand, Shiney was stuck in a traffic jam in Dadar due to a political rally. He called his friend to pick up his bike and raced to the location just in time for his scene. On his bike, that is. When contacted Shiney Ahuja informs, "There was a political rally going on in Dadar area and I was badly caught up in middle of it for nearly two hours. I was very tense as I had to reach the location on time. So, the best thing to do was to leave the car in the company of my driver and I called my friend to pick up the bike which I had parked in a friend's compound. My friend came with my Suzuki Hayabusa bike and I immediately reached the location just in time for my shot. I guess without the bike, it would have been extremely difficult to reach the location." Shiney further informs, "I am very passionate about bikes and I will very soon be doing a film about them where I would be riding a Kawasaki ZX 14cc bike. However, I can't talk about the film right now. I am also training with a Grand Prix trainer who has been specially flown down for the training. It is going to be a fun film and it will be announced soon." Well, drive safely until then Shiney.

wichy: [url=http://www.mumbaimirror.com/net/mmpaper.aspx?page=article&sectid=30&contentid=200705010234253905df321aэ]отсюда[/url] All is not well between Shiney Ahuja and Kay Kay Menon. The two actors have not been on talking terms all through the shooting schedule of Anurag Basu's Metro. Although Metro is their second film together, after Sudhir Mishra's Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, the two pretend to be complete strangers on the sets. "There was some tension between the two ever since they worked together in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. Shiney walked away with all the accolades for the film, even though Kay Kay was the film's hero. This led to some unpleasantness," says a source from the unit. The source adds, "It was very a different sight to see Metro's three lead actresses, Shilpa Shetty, Konkona Sen and Kangana Ranaut, on the sets. The three bonded well, they used to wait for the shoot to get over and then leave together. They spent a lot of time together. However, Shiney and Kay Kay were very formal and cold towards each other. Although they do not have scenes together, there were quite a few occasions when they were present together on the same day on the sets." However, as expected, Kay Kay denied having any trouble with Shiney. He said, "We did not have any scenes together in the film. Why would I ever have a problem with Shiney? Shiney has worked with me in the very first film of his career, while I am a senior actor. If I have to do a good scene, I need to collaborate with my co-actor and the director. I don't believe in the individualistic form of acting at all. There is no question of me not getting along well with my co-star professionally. I might have a tiff with someone in my personal life but never in my professional life because that would only spoil my scenes and also the film. At least credit a veteran actor like me with that much sense." Meanwhile, Shiney refused to comment on the subject.

Has ‘Metro’ turned out the way you were told it would? “In the beginning, all that was told to me was that my friend Anurag wanted to direct the film. That is the sole reason why I am a part of ‘Metro’. I was told the role much later.” When you worked with Anurag Basu in Gangster earlier, there were reports that you were miffed that Kangana was over-promoted, now it could be the same with Shilpa. “Well, your question answers itself. If I had any problem, then I wouldn’t have done this film with him. Would I? There was absolutely nothing of that sort. And it is the same now. I would rather not talk about such negative things. Let’s concentrate on the positive.” What is ‘Metro’ all about? “‘Metro’ is about life in a metropolitan city. Like Anurag says, any metropolitan city gives you a lot. It is the dream city for everyone who comes here. It fulfils your dreams. But it also takes away a large part of your life, in trying to realise that dream. The rest of the characters in the film go with the flow in the city, but my character does just the opposite – he goes against the trend. He’s a complete misfit. He follows his dream, and one day he realises that his whole life is a dream. One day he finds that all his friends have made it in the city. But he is left with nothing. The film begins with his wife leaving him for this very reason. That’s what wakes him up.” You’re known to be a pretty intense actor. How did you prepare for this one? Any peculiar nuances or research? “Actually, no. I haven’t changed my look or my mannerisms for the role. It’s not a very complicated role like ‘Gangster’. It’s the role of a normal guy, and that’s how I’ve played him. My only aim was that Anurag should make the film the way he wants it.” Did the equation on the sets change after Shilpa Shetty acquired international fame? “Strangely, my character in the film only interacts with the character Shilpa Shetty is playing; there is no interaction with anybody else. We shot before and after her reality show. But let me tell you, Shilpa is one of the most level headed people I know. I knew that she would not change no matter what - whether she wins or not. And that is exactly what happened. Things have become a little tough for her in the last few days (referring to the Richard Gere incident), but she’s a bold girl and she’ll get through.”

Actor Shiney Ahuja was shopping at a mall in Dubai, where he walking into Giorgio Armani's showroom to pick up a suit for Metro's premiere in Dubai. Shiney loves his Armani suits and prefers to dress formally when he attends important functions. However, as Shiney wasn't too happy with the Armani collection in the store, he decided to wear an Indian outfit for the premiere instead. While he was stepping out of the Armani store, he noticed famous Italian designer Ermenegildo Zegna's showroom in the mall. An eyewitness says, "Shiney walked into the showroom and explained to the sales executive what he was looking for. He liked some of the stuff in the showroom, and was thinking of buying one of the suits for the evening event. But, what Shiney did not know was that Ermenegildo's son and designer Angelo Zegna was present in the showroom. Angelo heard what Shiney was looking for. That's when he approached Shiney and offered him a dapper black suit worth Rs 80,000. The designer also insisted that Shiney accept the suit as a token of appreciation. Angelo wanted Shiney to wear the suit for Metro's premiere. Although Shiney insisted on paying for the suit Angelo jokingly asked Shiney to be his brand ambassador in India." Shiney happily flaunted the Ermenegildo Zegna suit at the premiere in Dubai. "It's unfortunate that I couldn't find anything suitable in Armani. But then I realised that Zegna's suit fit far better than any other suit that I have worn. I was touched by Angelo's gesture," says Shiney.

There's something about this angry young man, Shiney Ahuja. The actor, who is presently shooting for Hijack in Mauritius, has been demanding bigger vanity vans and desi khana. Reportedly, the temperamental actor often engages in verbal fights with helping hands on the sets, if his demands are not met with. Obviously, his latest endeavours have only added to the misery of director Kunal Shivdasani and other crew members. Our source from Mauritius says, "Shiney is extremely stubborn. He is not ready to compromise on anything. If he doesn't get his way, he keeps screaming at our assistant directors. He wants bigger vanity vans and he is having a lot of problems with the food that we serve." Shiney's spokesperson, however, terms his demands as 'a basic necessity'. "As far as I know, Shiney does not take any injustice lying down. What's wrong in asking for Indian food? We all have our individual eating habits and there's nothing wrong with it. And he needs more space that's why he has asked for a bigger vanity van," says the spokesperson. The story goes that Shiney (who has already acquired the label of 'a difficult actor') was very cordial at the outset. He religiously attended workshops and spent time in a flying simulator to get a hang of the role as the film revolves around a hijacked aircraft. But, once he started filming, Shiney emerged from his cocoon and often showed displeasure about his dialogues and costumes. Needless to say, the actor has become unpopular on the sets. If sources are to be believed co-star Esha Deol is not too fond of Shiney either. After the day's shoot the duo retire to their respective rooms without interacting with each other. Hijack is the story of a troubled father (Shiney) who makes attempts to save his daughter from the clutches of hijackers. Shiney works at an airport and the hijackers eventually land at this airport to refuel the aircraft.

Suhana: First Look of Khoya Khoya Chand

Suhana: wichy :

wichy:

Shiney Ahuja has been known for portraying vulnerable characters on screen ever since he first made a big impact in HAZARON KHWAHISHEN AISI. In each of his major films after that, be it GANGSTER, WOH LAMHE, ZINDAGGI ROCKS or LIFE IN A..METRO, he has demonstrated his vulnerable side to perfection. Now for the first time ever, he has taken on a role that allows him to be a man with an attitude. But no, it is not for a film but the brand 'Shark Tooth'. As a brand ambassador for this vodka drink from the house of Diageo whch is being promoted by packaging it as a music label, Shiney is now being seen in it's first television commercial. The script of this commercial requires him to keep the villains at bay as they try to grab a piece of sea side land. By wearing a cool 'I-care-damn' attitude, he gets the things done his way (albeit with the help of a shark - watch out for it!) and creates an instant impact. What is special about this commercial is that it manages to showcase a different facet of Shiney's personality and is as original as it gets. On the movies front, Shiney has a lot to look forward to as his mega film BHOOL BHULAIYYA is getting ready for a release. Later in the year, he would also be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s KHOYA KHOYA CHAND which was earlier titled BAHUT NIKLE MERE ARMAAN.

Everything around Shiney is shining but the man in question is not the center of attention, ironically. He had Metro last year, which though became a hit, didn’t do anything for Shiney as an actor. Then there’s Bhul Bhulaiya, which in all probability looks like an Akshay Kumar vehicle once again. The man who delivered a blazing performance in Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi –easily one of the most affecting films in recent times— seems to be finding it hard to match up the high standards he set with his debut. Nevertheless, the actor is maha-excited about the film and says he has enough to do in it. On the personal front, Shiney is becoming a father soon. He confirms, but won’t say more. Metro, which had you in the cast, was one of the year’s first hits. However, Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen Sharma ended up getting all the credit for the film. Do you agree? I was not disappointed, mainly because I hardly had any expectations from Metro as an actor. I did the film only for Anurag Basu (Gangster, Murder fame), who happens to be a dear friend of mine. In any case, I got more than my share in its success. It became a hit and also got a great opening. Considering, it was Shilpa (Shetty) and me who were given the maximum publicity in the promos, it felt good that I could help a film. Now, your next film is Bhul Bhulaiya, which is supposedly a remake of the Malayalam hit, Manachitrathazhu. The original film had Mohanlal in the stellar role, which is being played by Akshay Kumar in BB. Didn’t the fact that you would be playing the obvious second lead bother you? Or did you sign the film because of its commercial potential? Yeah….you could say that. Priyadarshan is a filmmaker I’ve always wanted to work with. In fact, I have been looking at working with ‘certain’ people in the industry, which is why I signed the film. I have never regretted any of my decisions and I quite like the way my role has turned out in this one. Yes, Akshay’s role is the more important one and that is something Priyadarshan told me right at the onset. However, in terms of length, my role is the better one. Overall, this is a very woman oriented film but then, I have never shied from signing those films. Woh Lamhe was publicized as Parveen Babi’s story but then, when people saw it they saw I had a substantial part. Your last co-star was the more accommodating and laidback Emraan Hashmi but this time you had an aggressive, show-stealing Akshay Kumar to contend with. Also, given that Priyadarshan and Akshay have done so many films earlier, one would assume you would be at a slight disadvantage… (laughs)Are you asking me if he edited my role? Yes Well, if Sunny Doel can cut Bobby’s role and Karisma can cut Kareena’s, then yes, Akshay can cut my role. Oh god, brotherly bonding!? Yes, in many ways Akshay has been an elder brother to me throughout the shooting of the film. He’s a Punjabi munda, I call him paaji (eleder brother). See, every filmmaker wants to make a good film and he would want to justify all his characters well. At least, that’s what I would like believe. As for Akshay, the fact that he has come from outside the industry to emerge so successful makes me respect him more. I connect with what he went through being an outsider myself. I’d like to be successful like him. But I should tell you that the media has been forever asking me about whether I was treated unfairly with Bhul Bhulaiya. I wonder why they can’t see two people bonding. It could be something to do with Akshay’s reputation. It’s happened with Garam Masala, Phir Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana etc, where only Akshay stood out. I don’t want to talk about Garam Masala…but I will say that Akshay being the bigger star in all these ventures would obviously want the film to come out looking exactly like that in the publicity or whatever. I never tried to compare myself with him. How can I, when he’s been in the industry for almost 18 years now? I was only interested to learn from Akshay. Now, people ask me why I’m not there in the promos of Bhul Bhulaiya. What can I say, ask the producer. I’m sure there’s a plan to the publicity, just as there was one for Gangster. There’s no agenda here whatsoever. Your next release, Khoya Khoya Chand looks interesting…given that it’s a film by Sudhir Mishra, who gave you HZA, your expectations must be high from it? Actually, at this point I have equal expectations from both KKC and Bhul Bhulaiya. Obviously KKC is not as popular as BB at this point but it is definitely the more intense film among the two. But what I’m really looking forward to is Har Pal, (directed by Jahnu Barua with Preity Zinta). Then there’s Highjack and Devdas. Next year is going to be more decisive for me in many ways. From HZA to Gangster to Woh Lamhe to Zindaggi Rocks to Bhul Bhulaiya and KKC, you seem to be doing only intense roles? Don’t you want to explore other aspects of your acting? Also, while things around you are looking good, some would say you haven’t got a chance to shine after HZA? But I cannot possibly overstep my character, can I? I should get such roles where I can shine. As for doing a light role, just wait for Har Pal. I have explores all the aspects of acting in it (laughs) Интервью с Шайни.

Jahnu Barua, the nine time National Award winner director from Assam, who made his debut as a Hindi filmmaker with the highly acclaimed film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara, is all set to direct his next venture. The film is titled Har Pall and will see a never seen before combination of Shiney Ahuja and Preity Zinta. Speaking about the film, director Jahnu Barua says, "Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja were my first choice as they fit the bill. I approached both of them and narrated the subject and am happy that they agreed to play the main lead in my film. Shiney is an actor, who can be moulded in any role. Har Pall is a commercial Hindi film which has a strong story." After doing a serious subject like Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara what made Jahnu Barua to go for a commercial love story this time? He says, "I have realized that the kind of subject I am taking up I want people to watch it. I want that audience. That's why somehow the subject is more important for me. It doesn't matter how I present it. If I succeed in giving them what they want, I'll feel I am doing justice to my film." Shiney Ahuja who plays an advertising executive in this film is happy that finally he gets to play a full white character. "Most of the characters that I played were very grey and of a complicated character. I am fortunate enough to get those characters at the early stage of my career. I am happy that my directors showed that confidence in a new guy like me. However, the background story of my character in Har Pall is slightly different. He is not carrying any baggage. I play an advertising executive, who is the neighbor of Priety Zinta. It's a very nice sweet love story." Har Pall is being produced by Tito of the famous Tito-Tony pair, who produced films like Ram Balram, Do Anjaane and Insaniyat with Amitabh Bachchan. The film also stars stars Dimple Kapadia and Isha Koppikar. The film will be shot in Mumbai, Kolkatta, and Shilong. Jahnu is planning to release the film in October this year. Honey Irani handles the dialogues and co-writes the story. Pritam Chakraborty and Javed Aktar handle the music and lyrics respectively.

wichy: отсюда For those purists who were appalled by the idea of Paro and Chandramukhi coming together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's interpretation of the classic , Sudhir Mishra's version of the epic which he starts shooting on October 20, promises to deliver a jolting blow. In Mishra's revisionist version of the re-located classic the doomed hero not only gets Chandramukhi, he also lives, arguing that life without Paro is as good as death. But Devdas without his death?! The film's producer Pritish Nandy seems pretty prepared to take on the purists. "Classics mutate with time. They change so many colours. I had decided to do our own version of Devdas after I had seen Sanjay Leela Bhansali's version. As a Bengali I couldn't connect with his lavish operatic mood. Saratchandra's version of the tale was all about austerity, holding back rather than unleashing a torrent of emotions." The kingpin of Pritish Nandy Communication seems undaunted by the criticism that's awaiting him. "Fear of falling has never stopped me from climbing higher. Our Devdas goes back to its literary roots, though it's set in contemporary times."

Soniya: wichy :

Soniya: wichy :

Soniya: wichy : Khoya Khoya Chand

И - last but not least - Грузин сногсшибательный...

He’s savored by cinegoers as a fair-skinned, light eyed ’serious’ actor. With just a few but acclaimed films like Hazaaron Khwaishien Aisi, Metro, Gangster and Woh Lamhe in his CV, Shiney Ahuja has camped himself in the bracket of ‘promising actors of today’. With his new film Bhool Bhulaiyaa just having released, Shiney seems to be heading to shed off his sober image. In a forthright chat with Businessofcinema.com, this no-nonsense actor who want to be ‘different’, talks about working with ‘Priyan sir’, how directors in the industry function and how what significance do corporate deals hold for him. Excerpts Right from your maiden film Hazaaron Khwaishien Aisi to Metro, you have essayed a lot of serious characters. With you upcoming films, are you now trying to break away from this mould? It will break on its own. Any good director senses a good actor and knows his range. Jahnu Barua signed me for Har Pall on the basis of one shot that he saw in Hazaaron Khwaishien Aisi, although these roles are completely different. Directors like Barua and Sudhir Mishra are creators, who actualize an image and other directors are followers who use the image that has already been created. Priyadarshan has made a mark as a director in the comic film genre with films like Garam Masala, Malamal Weekly, Bhagam Bhaag etc. to his credit. Are you looking forward to work with him in his trademark films? Actually I really wanted to do a comedy film with Priyan Sir, but Bhool Bhullaiya is a psychological thriller. So for the time being he offered me this role. I liked the story and my role a lot, so I chose to work in the film. In any profession if you do the same kind of work repeatedly, it gets boring. I feel insulted if someone offers me a role I have already essayed. I take it personally. It’s a challenge for me to play the role differently. Earlier when I used to work in ad films, my aim would always be to make my next work appear dissimilar from my previous ones. On this basis, I bagged a lot of work in very little time. I didn’t let myself get typecast. There is so much inside me as an actor that everyone still has to see. You said you work towards developing your characters differently…. What I meant was that, it depends on the director. Some directors require you to work on your character before coming on the set. Some directors do not want you to work on your character and come with nothing in their mind. A director like Sudhir Mishra trusts my instincts and lets me do what I wish to. Priyan Sir doesn’t expect me to do homework whereas Januh Barau requires me to work on my character. Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar’s affinity goes back a long way. During Bhool Bhullaiya, did you go through any initial insecurity pangs? Akshay is essaying a character in the film, and so am I. Every character has a certain prominence in the film. So if Priyan Sir is making a movie he will never favour an actor, he will only favour a character, depending on his importance in the movie. No director will harm his project to please an actor. Friendship and work are at their own place. Many of your peers are inking deals with corporates. Have such offers come your way too? If a corporate shows me three likable scripts, I don’t mind signing a three-film deal. In our profession, we worship Goddess Saraswati before Goddess Laxmi. It is a creative line and I chose films on the basis of scripts and not deals. I am not a dealmaker, I am an actor. Which of your films are you looking forward to now? I am really excited about next year. In Januh Barua’s Har Pall I play a relatively lighter character and Eros’ Highjack with Esha Deol is an outright action flick. There’s one more film which has not been announced right now for which I’ll start shooting in November.

Shiney Ahuja is engaging in some serious body sculpting; the actor has reduced 6 kilos of body fat in a month just to suit the role of a biker in his next and is undergoing rigorous training for the same. The film, to be produced by Ashok Kheny, is yet to be titled but Shiney is a speed demon in the film, that's certain. When contacted, Shiney's trainer Manav said, “Shiney needs to ride a bike for 25 days. And this isn't a regular bike driven in the usual manner. Shiney has to emulate a professional biker. To be able to carry on with the demands of this role, one needs strong arms. He needs to look extremely lean, like an authentic professional biker. “While the idea is to keep the muscles intact so that the body shape looks perfect, the trick is in reducing the body fat. I've put him under a meticulous training program; he needs to train round the week. I've incorporated weight training thrice a week and cardiovascular exercises for 20 minutes thrice a week. We concentrate on chest and back on one day, legs on another day, and shoulder and arms on different days.” He adds, “Food habits are the most important factor when it comes to body sculpting. A work out regime is useless if the intake of food goes wrong.” Shiney essentially sticks to a combination of less carbohydrates (also called carbs by our hunks), high protein and strong fibre content. His diet includes egg white, apples, fish, chicken. Five to six small meals of high proteins, 'carbs', and fibre diet after an interval of around two hours. The film is scheduled to go on floors soon. And Shiney is pulling up his socks. Watch out for the speed limit, Shiney. You don't want a hawaldaar to catch you at the wrong turn.

Hijack is an action thriller. The film revolves around Vikram Madan (Shiney Ahuja) who is a ground maintenance officer at the Chandigarh airport. His social life is limited to one friend, Rajeev, who is the Security Chief of the same airport. As luck would have it, the flight in which Vikram’s daughter was traveling to Amritsar from Delhi, is hijacked. A group of six terrorists takes control of the airplane to secure release of Maqsood (KK Raina) who had been captured by the Indian police. The flight is forced to land at Chandigarh airport. The terrorists demand the release of Maqsood and threaten to kill the hostages. The mastermind of this terrorist group is a man named Abdullah who remains a mystery till the end. Now, Vikram is faced with the dilemma of being the only man who can sneak inside the aircraft to his daughter Priya. Once he sneaks into the aircraft with the help of the airhostess, Saira (Esha Deol), he starts plotting and killing the terrorists one by one. Some innocent passengers too become victims of the gunshots by ruthless terrorists in the process. Somehow, Vikram and Saira manage to save the day Hijack - экшн-триллер, сюжет которого развивается вокруг Викрама Мадана (играет Грузин), наземного офицера в аэропорту Чандигарха.

This was shot on Saturday 15th March at Poison. On the sets were present Kunal Shivdasani, Shiney Ahuja and model Mariah. This is a song, which introduces the characters in the movie and is based on the people that get hijacked later on in the film. Although Shiney was very much present at the sets he was not part of this promotional song.

Shiney Ahuja gets talking about doing his own stunts in his upcoming film Hijack and being the media’s favourite bad boy Your new film Hijack with Kunal Shivdasani is your first action film? Gangster had a lot of action as well, so I guess I can’t call Hijack my first action film. But, this is my first film with tons of action sequences and stunts. So did you get to do a lot of your own stunts? Yes I did. I clung on to helicopters, jumped down from them, raced in cars and did a whole lot of other high octane stunts. How challenging was it for shooting a film that requires you to do such stunts? It was very challenging and intimidating, but I must say it was also fun and exhilarating at the same time. In one of the scenes I am hanging from a chopper. And the way I got there was that the chopper took off with me standing on one of its skids (the chopper’s stand). After we took flight I had to climb down from the skid and hang under it. I did all of that at the speed of some 100 odd miles an hour. Trust me, at such speeds just sitting in a chopper with a open window can be taxing, let alone hanging from it. How did you prepare for such daredevilry? Well, one has to be physically fit that is the foremost requirement of doing your own stunts. But beyond that one has to be mentally strong as well. The first time I did my own stunt in Hijack I was extremely scared. There is always a chance of ‘what if?’ But I decided to back myself and once I got through it, I felt more relaxed and assured of my ability to do my own stunts. Was action the reason you joined the cast of Hijack? In part it was, but I did this film because of Kunal. He is a very dear friend of mine and a long time ago I promised him I would work with him. When he narrated me the story of this film, I saw a passion and conviction in his eyes that made me say yes. It is said that Shiney Ahuja does only intense roles. Was Hijack an attempt to break the stereotype? I know most of the roles I have done so far have been near the same mould of an intense character driven by emotions. But I did not do those roles with an agenda in mind. Neither did I sign Hijack to break any moulds. And anyway Hijack has me in an all action role and another upcoming film Harr Pal has me doing some comedy. So change is on the cards. What does Shiney Ahuja look for in his roles and films? I know everyone says this but it’s true that every actor looks for a good story in their film. I do too. As for my roles they should be exciting. Did you think Khoya Khoya Chand offered you an exciting story and role? Khoya Khoya Chand (KKC) had a great subject and I was very happy with the film and my role. It’s just that the film did not appeal to a wider section of the audience. Things can go awry for any film and it’s really sad that a good film like KKC lost out. Were you disappointed that one of your three releases in 2007 went kaput? The interesting fact about 2007 is that two out of my three releases were ‘thank you’ films. I did KKC because I had to thank Sudhir Mishra for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and I did Life In A… Metro so I could thank Anurag Basu for Gangster. The success or failures of these films did not matter. Bhool Bhulaiya was the only film I chose as a commercial project and it turned out to be a blockbuster. The headlines more often than not talk about your spats with colleagues. It seems you have earned yourself a ‘bad boy’ reputation with the media. It shocks me to see so many things written about myself. Sometimes I think the media has something against me. Let me tell you, all those headlines about my spat with my directors and co-actors are all made up. Why do you think this happens? I cannot multi-task. If I am acting I can only act, if I am partying I can only party. So I am shooting for a film, my character research and rehearsals are the only thing I can make time for. At such times I am completely inaccessible to the media. Perhaps it is my unavailability that makes the media think that I do not want to talk and that I am arrogant and have problems. How’s life as a father to a newly born? Life is great. My baby girl is a few months old and we have named her Arshya. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with her.

Говорит, что два из трех фильмов в 2007 году были фильмами-благодарностями - KKC он делал, чтобы отблагодарить Мишру за Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, а Life In A…

Shiney Ahuja celebrates his birthday tomorrow but he’s apprehensive that the media will write it as ‘May 15, 1968’ yet again when he was actually born in 1975! Not that old Laughs Shiney, “It’s bizarre but every year my birthday is shown as 1968 which makes me 39. Apart from the fact that I am not so old, it’s embarrassing for my parents and me as we have to keep giving clarifications to family and friends. My parents got married in 1971 and I have an elder sister, Shweta, who was born in 1973. So obviously, if I was born in 1968, I’d have to be illegitimate? It’s shocking and distressing for my parents! I can laugh it off as I am used to all this. But when I do, my parents get upset with me. So I am clarifying this for my parents — I am neither 39 nor am I illegitimate.” It’s a special day for Shiney tomorrow as his mother has flown down from Delhi to be with him and his wife Anu. “Dad (Colonel Suraj Prakash Ahuja) would have come too as he celebrates with us every year but this year he has some urgent work commitments.” This will also be the first time Shiney celebrates his birthday with his seven-month old daughter Arshiya. “It’s very special occasion. I’ve grown as a dad but the best change is that today I love to wake up in the mornings. Earlier it was a pain but now Arshiya comes and sits on my chest and keeps saying ‘papa’ till I wake up. It’s the most precious moments of my life.”

Soniya: wichy :

Amita: nelke :

Amita: wichy :

Soniya: wichy :
