The film starring John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra along with Abhishek is being directed by Karan’s erstwhile assistant Tarun Mansukhani. Karan admitted that this one too is a triangular love story but also went on to add that it will be genuinely different in terms of treatment and something not seen before in Hindi films. Perhaps we could help you a bit to unveil one different element of the film. Rather two! As per industry insiders John has an interesting character in the film. He plays a not so straight person in the film. But that’s just for the sake of his friend played by Abhishek Bachchan in the film. Says an insider on condition of anonymity, “The love triangle in the film is between Abhishek-Priyanka-John. Abhishek loves Priyanka in the film. But Priyanka likes John. Abhishek and John play good friends. So for the sake of friend Abhishek, John fakes as if he is a gay to repel Priyanka”. This is the first time that John Abraham (or for that matter any mainstream actor) would be playing a gay character in a Hindi film. But what’s the second surprise you ask? Ok here it is… Dostana also stars Bobby Deol in a cameo. And very interestingly Bobby too plays a gay character in the film. But for a change he actually enacts a gay character and doesn’t fake one like John Abraham. The insider adds, “Bobby plays a real gay in the film who is attracted to John Abraham who takes up the gay garb just for the sake of his friend”. From the looks of it, this one isn’t quite a ‘straight’-forward story and one can actually expect a lot of difference.

Че-то там по памяти припоминаю, что в этом фильме вроде как старый Баччан должон играть был, и это что-то вроде Властелина колец Аби там вродь не планировался, но может переиграли сейчас - если статейку запостишь - попробую разобраться
wichy: отсюда Кроме Мани Ратнама, парочка Аби-Ашка будут сниматься вместе в фильме Раджива Менона, известного режиссера (Kandukondain Kandukondain) и оператора (Guru). Это будет второй проект режиссера на хинди, название пока Dhun. Продюсировать фильм будет Eros Entertainment. Фильм будет музыкальной мелодрамой, снимать будут в Мумбаи и Лондоне, музыку напишет А.Р.Рахман, сценаристы - сам Менон и Бхавани Ийер (Black). Менон подтвердил новости, сказал, что давно задумал этот проект - еще когда снимал Guru. Он рассказал задумку Аби и Ашке, им понравилась идея, и перед вылетом Аби в Майами - они окончательно решили участвовать в проекте. Съемки начнутся в феврале 2009, поскольку парочка должна сначала закончить съемки проекта Ратнама, а Ашка -еще и досниматься в фильме Шанкара с Раджникантом. Говорят, сначала в фильме предполагалось снимать Саифа, поскольку не было уверенности в датах Аби. Продюсеры обсуждали Dhun с ним, и ему понравилась идея проекта. Но позже вопрос с датами Абишека решился.

Talismaan is a romantic fantasy adventure inspired by epic novel, Chandrakanta, written in 1892 by Babu Devaki Nandan Khatri. It interweaves and mixes elements of magic, fantasy and war. The shooting of Talismaan will commence from early 2009. Old yarn There are rumours that Talismaan is inspired by Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter, but director Ram Madhvani says, “Vinod gave me a book to read Chandrakanta, written 50 years before Lord Of The Rings and 100 years before Harry Potter. I was amazed at its ideas and fantasy elements. He set me off on a journey. Talismaan is a love story, a fantasy and uses magic. It has a unique Indianness and yet is modern and contemporary. It’s time we had a fantasy film we can call our own and one we can be proud off. Talismaan is my attempt to do just that.” When quizzed about rumours about Talismaan being shelved because of its costly budget, Ram states, “If the film was shelved, believe me I would be the first to know. We are proceeding as per schedule. The film is very heavy on special effects etc and therefore a lot of time is being spent on pre-production. The storyboarding, concept art etc, requires detailing and research. It’s not a film you write the script for and then go on the floors to shoot it straightaway,” he concludes. Amitabh Bachchan says, “Yes, we (Abhishek and him) are in talks and should finalise shortly. It would be unethical to talk about it till then.” Sanjay Dutt says, “Vinod sir and Ram narrated the script to me and I was blown away. Talismaan is a journey I am looking forward to.” About Chandrakanta It’s the story of prince Virendra Singh, who is in love with the princess of a rival kingdom, Chandrakanta. Thrown into this love story is a magical maze in an old abandoned fort which guards a huge treasure trove. Virendra Singh and Chandrakanta have to ensure that their love wins against evil villains like King Shivdutt of another kingdom, who wants to capture the treasure. Also after the treasure are ‘aiyyars’ or super-spies who have the magical powers of transforming themselves into another person, and are experts in all modes of warfare. But we sniffed out some more news about someone else from the Bachchan household having a huge liking for the South Indian superstar. Apparently, AB’s son Abhishek is a huge fan of Rajnikanth and can mimic and imitate the actor’s antics to the tee. While shooting in a village in Hyderabad for Ram Gopal Varma’s forthcoming venture Sarkar Raj, a Bachchan family affair with Amitabh, Abhishek and the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya in it, Abhishek used to entertain the villagers, who flocked to the sets to catch a glimpse of AB junior and Aishwarya, and the entire cast and crew of the film by acting like the South Indian sensation, an insider says. “We found out that Abhishek is very fond of Rajnikanth and he used to imitate him a lot on the sets during the breaks,” the source says. “The villagers were really impressed to see him act like their favourite star and used to often request him to repeat his act which he did much to the pleasure of the onlookers. The other cast and crew of the film also enjoyed Abhishek imitating Rajni sir.” The source adds: “No one on the sets actually knew that Abhishek was a fan of Rajnikanth. Everyone knows that his father and Rajnikanth share a great rapport. “So, when Abhishek one fine day started imitating the antics of Rajnikanth, everyone was amused. Seeing the excitement among the crew and the villagers when he did those antics, Abhishek used to do it more and time just flew on the sets during breaks.” Sarkar Raj is set to open on June 6 this year. wichy: отсюда - интервью с Аби про Sarkar Raj How different are you and your father in Sarkar Raj as compared with Sarkar? In Sarkar Raj, Pa would be seen with an added slouch. Pa had to be shown aged since the first part of the film. Time has passed and we see it in his performance, and mine. My character has more responsibility on his shoulders. Earlier my character was hungry and lean eager to prove himself. Now I'm a more a confident and successful man. I believe you've put on weight for the role? I have. We wanted to show Shankar Nagre as not heavy, but healthier than he was in the first part…as a successful well-settled man. Even my clothes in Sarkar Raj have changed. In Sarkar, I was more casually dressed. In Sarkar Raj, I'm more formally attired in a suit all through. Earlier my character was hungry and lean eager to prove himself. Now I'm a more a confident and successful man. You know more about sequels than your colleagues? Sarkar Raj isn't my first sequel. I've also done Dhoom 2. But there's a difference. For Dhoom 2, Aditya Chopra's brief was to take the brand further. He wanted to make the sequel bigger and better. Otherwise, he reasoned, why would they come to see it? Sarkar Raj on the other hand, moved the other way. It's not a candyfloss entertainer. We had to be true to the original characters. The characters moved in a specific direction from the first part to the second. So there has to be a lot of intensity in the presentation. In Sarkar Raj, we couldn't afford the liberties that we could in Dhoom 2. Experimenting with body language and weight are now a part of your acting grammar. I guess today, an actor has to work hard to be noticed. So does the director. In Sarkar Raj, it's not just my character's weight that has changed. The house the characters live in has become more plush. This time you take centrestage in the drama? I disagree. Sarkar is Subhash Nagre which is dad's character. But now Shankar is running the family business. But his father is still the head of the family. So we're in it together." But you and Aishwarya are not a couple in Sarkar Raj? Does that matter to the audience? Once the lights go down in the theatre the audience becomes one with the characters. If they don't it's my failing as an actor. They will be swept away with the characters. Whether we're married or a couple in the film is of no consequence. I think such cheap publicity gimmicks don't work. And yes we haven't tried to hide the fact that we aren't a couple in the film. No point in lying to the audience. In fact, there's no relationship between Aishwarya and me in Sarkar Raj. And that should be no problem. Just because we're husband and wife doesn't mean we should play the same roles in all our films. I'd like to think my character has evolved since the first part and that I've evolved accordingly But what about the strong media -created image of you as a couple? No, I'm convinced the audience isn't going to take that factor into consideration. My father and I do play father and son in Sarkar Raj. But we weren't related at all in Bunty Aur Babli. In fact, he was hunting me down throughout the film. And yet it was a resounding success. How much have you evolved as an actor since Sarkar? I'd like to think my character has evolved since the first part and that I've evolved accordingly. But like I said, Jai Dixit could change his looks and clothes from Dhoom to Dhoom 2. I don't think it'd look believable to see me in a t-shirt, jeans and clean-shaven in Sarkar Raj. As for myself, without sounding arrogant I'd like to say I think I've evolved as an actor. I'm still learning and I'll be learning till the day I'm an actor. Look at my father at 65. He continues to evolve. In comparison to him there's a long way to go. I'd like to believe I'm evolving. Если в первом фильме его персонаж хотел проявить себя, то теперь он более уверенный в себе мужчина. Ддля фильма он набрал вес, потому что они хотели показать Шанкара Нагре более здоровым, чем в первой части, как успешного и респектабельного мужчину. Даже одежда в Sarkar Raj отличается - в Sarkar герой был одет более в стиле casual, здесь он наряжен в официальные костюмы. Говорит, что Sarkar Raj не первый его сиквел - до этого он делал Dhoom 2. Но есть разница - в Dhoom 2 просто продвигался бренд, сиквел делался больше и лучше. Sarkar Raj пошел другим путем, он не развлечение, и приходилось следовать исходным персонажам. Они развиваются в определенном направлении от первой части ко второй. В Sarkar Raj нельзя был допускать те вольности, которые прошли в Dhoom 2. Говорит, что не согласен, что у него главная роль - Sarkar по-прежнему Субхаш Нагре, персонаж его отца. И хотя теперь Шанкар ведет семейный бизнес - глава семьи по-прежнему отец. When she fell ill after rigorous rehearsals for their much talked about ‘Unforgettable’ world tour that kicks off in Toronto Friday, Abhishek learnt her steps too. “We have been rehearsing for the tour non-stop for nearly a month now. Shiamak (Davar) has been working us around so hard to get our dance steps right that my wife Aishwarya fell sick with exhaustion. For three days, she could not move out of the house,” said Abhishek. “That put an additional burden on me as I had to do her steps also, not only at the rehearsal hall but at home too in order to teach her the dance steps Shiamak had given her for the songs she would be dancing to during the tour,” he told reporters. Abhishek says now he is ready to pitch in for both his father, Amitabh Bachchan, and wife. “I told the ‘wizzies’ (members of Wizcraft, which is putting together the tour) that if she falls sick again and won’t be able to dance during the show they should not get panicky because I have learnt all her steps and might as well double for her. “Moreover, dad’s body is also no longer as nimble as it was. In case he gets tired during the tour I may have to do the ‘Kajra re…’ number all by myself. Well, I am prepared for that, too,” Abhishek said with a straight face during a media meet here. His impromptu ‘act’ threw everybody into splits at the event. Apart from the Bachchans, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh, composer duo Vishal-Shekhar are also part of the tour. There will be some guest stars as well — Akshay will perform in Toronto, Shilpa Shetty in Britain and Madhuri Dixit in the US.
