It is learnt that Rajeev Menon, who earlier made Kandukondain Kandukondain and Sapnay, approached Abhishek with the idea of the remake. Menon is very close to Mani Ratnam and has worked with him on Bombay and Guru. A source reveals that Menon is a huge fan of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and was toying with the idea of remaking Abhimaan. “Rajeev and Abhishek are good friends. They hit it off during Guru and discussed films. It’s during the making of that film that Rajeev tossed the idea of remaking Abhimaan. However, they didn’t discuss it seriously.” Not too convinced Apparently Rajeev was waiting for the Abhi-Ash marriage to happen after which he would hold more discussions with Abhishek. However things changed when Rajeev approached Abhishek with the remake for the second time. The source adds, “Abhishek wasn’t too convinced about the project. He was too scared with the idea of working in a film that’s considered as a classic. Official sources say that the actor, who was signed on to represent the company in 2006, has refused to renew his contract. Truth be told, LG dumped him. Sources reveal the reason behind this unceremonious ouster is his demand to include Ash in the contract. A source close to LG reveals the actor laid down a condition that he would continue only if they would work out a dual endorsement deal with Ash. Power couple The source reveals, “Abhishek and Ash are trying hard to be the power couple in Bollywood. They get loads of offers for deals and endorsements. However, most of the deals don’t work out as they have exorbitant prices and want to get joint endorsements. A source close to the Bachchans says, "LG was very keen to have Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to endorse their entire range of products across-the-line. It was an extremely tempting and lucrative offer. But LG's range of products also included cell-phones. And Abhishek is already endorsing Motorola cellphones. So, he had to decline LG's offer. But he has received a letter from the company saying they would love to have him and his wife as their brand ambassadors any time they wish." The Abhishek-Aishwarya pair won't be seen in any advertisement at the moment. Their next screen outing will be Mani Ratnam's film that goes on the floors as soon as Abhishek returns from Miami after filming Karan Johar-Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana with Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham. At the moment he's working 20 hours a day to wrap up Rakeysh Mehra's Delhi 6, which completed a 2-month schedule in Jaipur and is now being shot in Mumbai. And if you ask me, he has gone far beyond what he did in Sarkar." Ramu adds, "Abhishek is looking really thin these days. For those who are writing that he's frantically gyming to lose weight here's some disappointing news. I don't think Abhishek can lose any more weight." On Tuesday night Abhishek left for Miami to do what he calls a fun film on the beach. Before that he tried to spend as much time as possible with wife Aishwarya who, incidentally, is trying juggle domestic duties with script readings. Says a source, "After the success of Jodhaa Akbar the offers are phenomenal. The Bachchans, especially Jaya, who gave up her career at her prime, are delighted. They thought her marital status would inhibit her career. But the offers are pouring in. Besides Shankar's Robot, Aishwarya has already said yes to Sriram Raghavan's film with John Abraham and Ben Kingsley's Taj Mahal project which also has Bipasha Basu." The debutant director has been single-mindedly filming a lavish item number with Shilpa Shetty for almost a week, leaving the rest of the cast with nothing to do. The song-and-dance sequence will feature Shilpa sitting behind a bearded biker on a Harley-Davidson and leading a pack of Harley riders down Hollywood's paved Broadwalk, as the lanky extras sunbathe on the beach. According to the sources, Abhishek, John and Priyanka who are obviously getting bored doing nothing to do, are embarrassed to broach the 'issue' with the director. Meanwhile, the trio has been strictly instructed to avoid binging, especially AB junior, who is extremely fond of burgers and fries. mar_melad_ka: Abhishek records with American rapper Wyclef Jean 9 Apr 2008 Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has churned out a couple of songs with American singer Wyclef Jean while shooting for his film Dostana in Miami. Recorded under the musical ear of top film composer Aadesh Shrivastava, Abhishek sang Main yahan ka desi don and Khai ke Banarsi paan, modified versions of the original songs. Aadesh said, "It was unbelievable. Wyclef and I were discussing a track where we needed hip-hop-rap in Hindi by an Indian star, and he said, ‘How about Abheee-shake?’ I jumped at the idea.." I’ve recorded many songs with Amitji. And I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to record with Junior who I know has a terrific singing voice.” Wyclef flew down from New York to ad his vocals alongside Abhishek’s chorus. Admiring Abhishek’s crooning, Wyclef joked, “Yehi hai right choice, AB Baby.” This is the first time an Indian actor has done a duet with an African-American rapper. Я здесь новичёк, но меня приятно поразила атмосфера дружелюбия , юмора на форуме. Приятно находиться среди людей любящих индийского кино, а не фанатья превознасящего своего кумира и унижающего других.
