Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose in Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam Sherawat greeted people with salutes on the sets of Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam in her Anarkali get-up Mallika Sherawat got so much into the skin of the character for her film Maan Gaye Mughall E Azam (MGMEA), that she started acting like Anarkali. Says a unit member, “Mallika plays a starlet and part of a theatre group in MGMEA. In one of the plays the group stages, she plays Anarkali. After some time Mallika got so much into her character that she started greeting the cast members with a special ‘aadab’ like Anarkali, instead of the usual ‘hi’ or ‘hello’. She also performed elaborate kathak steps for no rhyme or reason. It was funny to see her actually behaving like Anarkali!” Director Sanjay Chel confirms Mallika’s little antics. “This was Mallika’s way of creating a fun atmosphere on the sets,” he justifies. “There were times when I would get stressed handling 18 actors on the sets and this was her way of diluting the grim atmosphere by bringing positive energy into it. She would salute all of us in Anarkali style and do some dance steps.” Sanjay is all praise for Mallika, “I am in love with her! Her hunger for acting and eagerness to experiment and try new things is amazing. She’s also the most hassle-free actress I have worked with she’s always on time, attends every rehearsal and is totally undemanding. While Mallika is a spontaneous actress, Rahul Bose is methodical and disciplined and that generates lots of chemistry between them.” Style file Mallika’s look and styling in the film has been designed by Ashley Rebello and Anita Dongre. The actress will also do a take-off on the Mughal-E-Azam song, informs producer Ratan Jain. “MGMEA is almost complete with only two songs remain to be shot. Reportedly, Mallika will star is an American film titled ‘The Aquarian Gospel’, to be directed by Australian filmmaker Drew Heriot. In 1894, a Russian doctor and traveller Nicholas Notovitch made some shocking revelations in his book ‘The Unknown Life of Christ’ in which he claimed that Jesus traveled to holy places in India and met many holy men during the course of his travels. wichy: Отсюда - - выдержки из интервью с режиссером и сценаристом нового ее фильма Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam Санджаем Чхелом. Режиссер говорит, что это не ремейк классического фильма, это черная комедия с Парешем равалом, Рахулом Боусом, Кей Кей Меноном и Паваном Мальхотрой. Рассказывает, что работал с продюсером фильмов Yes Boss и Badshah Ратаном Джайном. С тех пор они ждали подходящего сценария, чтобы Санджай стал режиссером. И когда Санджай закончил сценарий Maan Gaye, он предложил его Ратану. Тому сценарий понравился и он согласился его продюсировать. Сначала Санджай собирался пригласить неизвестных актеров, однако Ратан пригласил Маллику, Пареша, Рахула, Кей Кей Менона и Павана Мальхотра. Фильм - черная комедия навроде Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. Он о театральной труппе и пьесе, которую они репетируют. Это комедия, но не такая, как One Two Three или Sunday. У Рахула в фильме целых три роли, а у Пареша - аж 4-5 Малика играет восходящую звезду, и у нее есть для этого и шарм, и энергетика, которые необходимы. Она совершенно не заносчива, иногда слегка ребячлива и подвержена перепадам настроения, но никогда не создает проблем, и все время оживляла съемочный процесс. viktoriya: Mallika, Irrfan Khan to star in Naagin - The Snake Woman By Bollywood Hungama News Network, July 11, 2008 - 12:14 IST For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, a Hollywood director will soon embark on a Bollywood film. Jennifer Lynch, daughter of four time Oscar nominee and two times Cannes Film Festival winner, David Lynch, is all set to shoot Hindi language Bollywood film. Interestingly, her debut venture is about a subject that has always intrigued the West. The film is called Naagin--The Snake Woman and brings back to life the ancient myth concerning the Nag-Naagin relationship. Lynch's last film Surveillance starring Bill Pullman and Julia Ormand was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year. And it is none other than Bollywood siren Mallika Sherawat who has been zeroed in on the title role of a Naagin. Mallika will be the fourth actress to play the legendary of a Naagin. Vyjayantimala, Reena Roy, Sridevi and Manisha Koirala are the famous Bollywood actresses who had enacted this legendary character previously. The film also stars Irrfan Khan in a role of a cop who has been given the task to pin down the Naagin and destroy her legendary powers. Hollywood's special effects wizard Robert Kurtzman has been roped in to create some unbelievable graphics for the film. Kurtzman, who has worked with the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez, has been a writer himself. The film From Dusk Till Dawn has been written by him. Produced by Ratan Jain's Venus Records and Tapes, Naagin-The Snake Woman has Vikram Singh and Govind Menon as its co-producers. Ace Director of Photography, Madhu Ambat and Hollywood Sound Effects specialist Patrick Girardi are also a part of the project. The shooting starts in various locations and sets, in the last week of July, in a start to finish schedule. Casting is currently on for the rest of the parts in the film. Producer Ratan Jain is very upbeat about the development. Says he, "Venus films is known for its commercial family entertainers. There is lot of work happening between Hollywood and Bollywood and the film with Jennifer lynch starring Mallika Sherawat is a step towards it. So when director Govind Menon and producer Vikram approached me with the subject, I was spellbound. We have fables of vampires and Cindrellas, and you guys have such interesting legends about snakes. It’s super cool to be a Nagin! I come from a country where snakes are looked down upon and associated with negative energy. Here, snakes are worshipped,” exclaimed Jennifer whose last film, Surveillance, starring Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond premiered at Cannes in June. According to the filmmaker, the world believes India is a snake charmers’ country, but nobody knows the real story behind this misconception. Jennifer intends to dispel this myth with a classy, musical murder mystery made with special effects. “I will change the perspective in the West about snakes and they will be respected hereafter,” said the director who has been exposed to India through the Vedas since her father studied Ayurveda. On why she chose Mallika for the role, Jennifer explained, “She has it in her. Her body is the hallmark of most of her films, but I am focusing on the sensuality of her face and her eyes.” But... The actress will be seen in some interesting avatars -- from Catwoman to a Kama Sutra girl! Ashley Rebello, who has designed her outfits in the film, takes us through her different looks. Over to Ashley: How did you happen to design Mallika's outfits in Ugly Aur Pagli? I design all her outfits. I did not get any specific brief for Ugli Aur Pagli; it all depends on the situations and the scenes. If it is a song sequence, the costume will be different. She has different avatars in Ugly Aur Pagli, so she has different costumes for them. What are the different outfits? She dresses up like an Indian princess, catwoman, supergirl... Basically, she has a very simple look in the film -- she's like the girl-next-door. So her outfits in the film are very casual, simple and modern. It's very easy to design for Mallika. She trusts me completely -- she has blind faith on me. So there are no worries when I design for her. How would she react if she does not like an outfit? She is very straightforward. She does not mince words. If she does not like an outfit, she will say it. Since we are friends, it is very casual and informal. That makes it easy for the designer. How difficult is it to convince her to wear an outfit? It is quite easy to convince her. If she does not like an outfit or is not sure of it and if I tell her that it will suit her, she will wear it. For instance, she was convinced about her Indian princess avatar, which was like a Kama Sutra look. What kind of outfit, according to you, does she carry well? She carries Western outfits really well. She looks amazing in Indian clothes too but she does not think so. She's more comfortable in Western outfits like jeans and T-shirts. I think she looks sexy in saris and churidhars too. What are the favourite outfits that you have designed? The gagra choli that Tabu wore in Chandni Bar, Pooja Bedi's red dress in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Sushmita Sen's outfit in the Fiza song and the Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na outfits. I also like Salman Khan's outfit in Yuvraj. He wears a knee-length leather jacket, Victorian shirts and boot-cut pants. Which star have you loved designing for? Salman is my favourite because he knows exactly what will look good on him. He carries all his outfits very well. His sister, Alvira, and I have a company called Happiness, and we design all his outfits. My favourite actresses are Mallika Sherawat and Malaika Arora Khan. Lo: Значит так... прошла инфа, что Ugly Aur Pagli это ремейк корейского фильма "Yeopgijeogin geunyeo" - "My Sassy Girl". ткнуть в википедию Который я, кстати, видела. Если это так, то я уже сейчас забиваю право на перевод сабов к Ugly Aur Pagli. зы: американцы тоже ремейк с этого корейского фильма сделали, и тоже в этом году выпускают.
Lo: Пошли обзоры критиков на Ugly Aur Pagli. К сожалению, почти все они, - плохие. Причем, часто сравнивают с оригинальным корейским фильмом (неужто все его тут же посмотрели?) и не в пользу копии. Ругают режиссера. Правда отмечают, что самое лучшее в фильме это игра Малики и Шорея. Опять же некоторые отзывы зрителей очено хорошие. Даже и не знаю, что думать, с одной стороны после дифирамбов, что напели индийские критики Джодха-Акбару - я в их вкус на кино совсем верить перестала, а с другой стороны, ну что-то уж они ругают фильм все как один. Еще меня смущает что критики пишут рядом такие взаимоисключающие друг друга вещи, как: фильм плохой, покадровая (!) копия хорошего корейского фильма, фильм плохой, а оригинал - хороший, фильм плохой, и главное - сценарий у него отвратительный. если покадровая копия, то как может быть сценарий отвратительным, если оригинал - сами хвалят? Ничего не понимаю.

Ничего не понимаю А чего тут понимать-то - режиссура плохая имхо, не прочувствовал режиссёр духа фильма - и кранты, хоть кадр в кадр сними - а по сравнению с оригиналом будет полный провал На мою имху, у индусов все ремейки в сравнении с оригиналами сняты именно так - не могут передать именно дух, атмосферу, настроение... Тут никакая покадровка не поможет. Мне из всех таких ремейков, что я видела, единственный фильм понравился - "Казино Чайна-Таун, 36" - можно сказать, что не хуже оригинала ("Однажды преступив закон")

wichy: Ну вот и вышел новый фильм Малайки Maan Gaya Mughal-e-Azam. Опустили его почти все критики ниже плинтуса, и к тому же говорят - это тоже, как не печально, ну если не ремейк - то "по мотивам" фильма To Be or Not to Be Судя по отзывам критиков - возможно, хорошая вещь...
