Vetla: Да-а! А я тоже только сегодня уж в 4 утра закончила "Навеки твоя". Самое интересное было наблюдать за собой: вот я вместе с Аш млею от Салмана, и вдруг к концу фильма, где Аджай такой страдающий и благородный, я хочу, чтобы она осталась с ним! Вот она, сила искусства! Аджая, в том числе.

Однозначно Я за Jab Kisi прощу все, что угодно Да, и в Навеки твоя эта Венгрия тоже совсем не в кассу. Просто фильм уж очень хорош и такое вот буэээ. Я итальянский немного знаю, а тут слушаю и не пойму, что за фигня, на каком они болтают, сначала показалось, что на чешском или албанском, позже выяснилось, что на венгерском. Но с Амитом я просто балдела от двух фильмов - Владыка судьбы и Шакти. Первый я уже купила на dvd, второй пока не выходил. Не, в промежутке ничего не смотрела, а по ТНТ я тогда видела лишь финал Навеки твоей и Аджай просто в памяти отложился. А этой весной у меня подруга купила сборник инд. фильмов 6 в 1 и где-то до июня уговаривала меня тоже что-то посмотреть. Наконец, я сдалась. Посмотрела "Непохищенную невесту", "K3G", "Вир и Зару", почти все раскритиковала, кроме последнего, который вообщем-то хороший очень фильм с единственным большим промахом в сюжете. А вот "Девдас" мне уже показался шедевром. Потом посмотрела много фильмов с Саифом и вспомнила про этот фильм по ТНТ. Описала подруге финал, а она говорит : "Да это ж "Навеки твоя". Вот так все и случилось Эстер пишет: а Раскаяние тебе, кстати говоря, понравился? не Девган в нем, а сам фильм... просто я его так и не посмотрела... боюсь опплеваться... партнерши девгановы ну не внушают мне доверия , не люблю ни ту, ни другую... да и отзывы не самые лучшие... Да, он мне скорее понравился, чем нет. Тоже видела отзывы, поэтому ждала несусветной чуши. Может, поэтому мне показалось, что вполне терпимо. Песенка заглавная хорошая. Персонаж Амиши ужасно неприятный. Но дело в том, что я и в жизни подобных людей видела. Сама Амиша тоже далеко не красавица, но я к ней лучше стала относиться, после того, как узнала, что она чуть-ли не самая образованная актриса Болливуда. К Махиме я нормально отношусь. Но персонаж ее тоже странноват. Но в целом вполне смотрибельно, вот на Chori Chori, к примеру, я периодически засыпала

The stunt was risky and he could have ended up hurting himself very badly. But he managed to pull off the stunt without harming himself. Most macho heroes shy away when it comes to doing death-defying stunts and action shots but a few insist on doing it themselves and Ajay is definitely one of them. The son of stunt director Veeru Devgan, he has no fear of stunts since childhood. Recently while shooting for Halla Bol, Devgan begged, pleaded, cajoled and even threatened to walk out of the film if he was not allowed to do the stunt himself. Finally filmmaker Raj Kumar Santoshi relented and gave in to Devgan’s wishes. This is not the first time that he has performed such dangerous stunts. In his debut movie Phool Aur Kaante he performed a spectacular feat – standing to two bikes with legs apart and doing the perfect balancing act. The memorable scene was repeated again in last year’s hit comedy Golmaal. In his interviews while taking about stunts, Devgan has always maintained that all kinds of possible safety and precautions are taken before shooting for such dangerous scenes. Known for his perfectionist streak, the actor then approached the fire brigade department for a few fire engines. He had offered to pay Rs 15,000 as a deposit and machine charges per hour. Initially, the fire brigade department was simply reluctant, as they have never rented out machines for shooting purposes in the past. Eventually, they refused to rent out their fire engines. Adds another source, "The fire brigade department was taken aback at our request. After much dilly-dallying they said that they cannot give out the machines for a film shoot." Devgan had to make do with artificial showers to complete the vital sequence featuring Devgan and wife Kajol. You've been out of circulation for ages, what's been keeping you so busy? I was busy directing my film, U, Me Aur Hum. My cell phone was off all this while since I didn't want any distractions. Now that the shooting is over, you'll again see me doing ads and films. Right now I'm shooting for Sunday and it's good fun. But your cell is constantly off, can an actor afford to do this in such competitive times? Why not? It's my choice. That's the way I've always been. But you agree that you're the least written about actor in B-Town? What can I say to that? I've always been like this. I'm very lazy. I don't like giving interviews. It takes me months to prepare myself mentally for one interview. I can't just sit and talk about anything under the sun. I only talk when I've something to say about a film I truly, genuinely believe is good. It takes me months to prepare myself mentally for one interview How do you explain the debacle of Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag? First of all let me say that all of us went wrong with Aag. It's not fair to saddle Ramu with all the blame. The intention of making the film was not wrong but sometimes things are not in your control. I still maintain that the decision to make Aag was right. For U, Me Aur Hum, I came up with the idea, wrote the basic storyline and then got other writers to collaborate on it. I took a spontaneous decision to direct the film. But then that's me. If I decide something in the night then by morning I do it. One would have imagined that you'll make an action film but you are making a romantic film. Isn't that strange? (Shy smile) Well, I've tried to put in the film whatever I feel deep inside. I hope I've been able to convey what I wanted to. I've not made a great film but I've tried to make an honest film. I think more or less I've succeeded in saying what I needed to say in a commercial format. U, Me Aur Hum is not a senseless film. The film involves a lot of fine print. I hope the audience can read between the lines and see the moments within a moment. If not that then I hope they get entertained. Are you nervous? Not at all. I'm always confident about what I do, whether it works or not is not in my hands. In my mind, I've managed to achieve what I set out to achieve with U, Me Aur Hum. But are you a romantic person? I really don't know. Arre then who will know? Well, I think every person has some romance in him/her. Romance is not only with another person. It can be with a car, with work, with a cigarette. You know what I'm trying to say. Hmm. Does your daughter, Nysa know that you're an actor? Oh yes, she knows it. She watches my films. Even though I don't want her to watch films but one can't avoid television these days. She knows every actor and is extremely aware for her age. You know the other day, I was driving and she saw a banner ad of Sachin Tendulkar. Suddenly she said, "That's Sachin." I asked her if she knew who he was and she replied, "Yes, I know him. He sells biscuits." (Laughs) So you see my daughter is pretty clever. So who is her favourite actor? Well if you ask her then she'll say her father is her favourite. What was it like directing your wife, Kajol? It was very normal. We were not conscious of the fact that we're married. We worked well. Kajol recently said that you're an amazing cook. What do you like to cook? (Smiles) Cooking relaxes me. I can make anything from Chinese to Mughlai dishes. I can even make biryani. I picked it up from my dad. He is a great cook. What's your next release, Halla Bol all about? It's a film where the main protagonist is a star. It's about his mind and personality in the cutthroat world of films. I just saw the film recently and I think Raj Kumar Santoshi has made a brilliant film. There is a lot of satisfaction I get after doing a film like this. It's something to be proud of. Raj Kumar Santoshi is planning things. Ashoka is a fantastic script. Let me make it very clear that there is no comparison with what was made earlier (SRK's Asoka). Our film starts after the Kalinga war when Ashoka, the emperor decides to embrace Buddhism and becomes Ashoka, the great. It's his journey towards greatness. Your good friend Aamir Khan has also turned director with Taare Zameen Par. Did you guys share notes or something? Actually we haven't even spoken about this. After having done the role of an honest police officer in GANGAAJAL Any special reason for accepting the role of corrupt cop in SUNDAY? Actually, I was charmed by the story of the film. Can you imagine what will happen if ‘Sunday’ disappears from one’s life? The story of this film is its specialty and here we don’t have to make faces to make the audience laugh. I think that if one’s intentions are right, everything is possible. And this is what I have done. (Laughingly) Frankly speaking, it is feeling great as I have done two different types of roles in these two films. Actually, GANGAAJAL is a very serious film, while SUNDAY is a comedy. The characterization of the police has not been taken too seriously in SUNDAY. You have excelled in action and serious roles and now in comedy. What do you have to say regarding this? Look, in order to strike a balance with your career it is essential to do various kinds of roles. It is not necessary that all your films will run well, but to prove that you are a versatile actor, this is very important. This way you not only offer variety to your audience, but also test yourself as an actor. After all, an actor also needs job satisfaction. How much do you enjoy doing comedy roles? According to me, making comedy and comedy happening are two different things. I enjoy doing comedy roles because this not only entertains the audience, but also the performers. And it is a known fact that comedy not only makes us laugh, but also makes us forget the stress and strains in life. These days you are the leading man in most of Rajkumar Santoshi’s films … First of all let me make one thing very clear. I don’t have any hang-ups working with anyone in this entire film industry and I work with anyone and everyone with whom I find myself free and relaxed. Unlike many, I do not belong to any camp and it is also not necessary that I will be in all the films of any particular director. And everyone in the industry is aware of this. What is happening is mere coincidence and I can tell you one thing and that is if a director finds a more competent actor than me for any particular role in his film, I would prefer to withdraw myself from the project. It is often said that you try to avoid the media … (Laughingly) No, there is no truth in this. I never avoid the media, but it is true that I am a bit lazy on this matter. Would you like to say something about your film U ME AUR HUM? Well, this is my film and what can I say about it. I put the responsibility of talking about the film on you… What inspired you to make this film? Just like that. The idea came to me all of a sudden and I decided to make a film of the topic to satisfy my dreams or wishes. Today very few people are aware of the fact that before becoming an actor, I have worked on all the aspects of filmmaking that remain behind the scene. Through this film, I am trying to revive my old memories. Why have you chosen Kajol for this film and not any other heroine? I have not taken Kajol in the film, but it is she who has shown eagerness to work in the project. She liked the story very much and she proposed to act in the film. Fortunately, even today we are actors and not mere husband and wife before the camera. We are told that Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are quite annoyed over the comments made against them in your film HALLA BOL. Would you like to comment on this? Don’t you think that all this is utter nonsense? After all, even I am an actor and who would like to make fun of himself. I don’t feel that we have hurt anyone’s sentiments through this film. But if we deliberately want to demean someone there are thousand and one ways for this. ‘Nukkad natak’ has been given a lot of prominence in HALLA BOL. What would you like to say on this? Look, I have never watched a ‘nukkad natak’ nor do I know much on this. All that I know is that this is a very effective way to pass any message to the public and is widely utilized in northern India. As far as the film is concerned, ‘nukkad natak’ has not been used to stop any corruption, but to create awareness among the masses just like it was done in the Jessica Lall murder case. Do you sincerely believe that stardom can be used effectively to create awareness among the masses? Certainly. But I also believe that if the media is helpful even the common man can make himself popular through the media. We have tried to convey this message through HALLA BOL. So, you feel that the media has become very strong? Don’t you also think so? Today the media is certainly very powerful and I want to give you an example. Today if you write something wrong or untrue about me only I and those close to me will know that this is a gossip. But more than 80 percent of the people will believe what you are right. And interestingly, if I need to clarify my stand, I will again have to seek the help of the media as I don’t have any other alternative. It is only the media that has told the people that Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are annoyed with me. The two actors never conveyed this to me. So I appeal to the media to realize their responsibilities and present the truth before the people. Tell us something about your forthcoming films. My forthcoming films include Rohit Shetty’s GOLMAAL RETURNS and Rajkumar Santoshi’s ASHOKA - THE GREAT. Right now we are working on the story of ASHOKA. In addition, I had another film titled MR FRAUD, but this has got stuck owing to Sanjay Dutt. There are a number of other films, but they are in very preliminary stages and it would be too early to say anything about these.

A part of the amount was to be given to the stars and technicians as signing amounts. It’s rumoured that Santoshi has used the money for personal benefit. This has upset Ajay who is very straight in his money dealings (he paid all his debts for Raju Chacha). The PVR guy who finalised the deal between Santoshi and PVR has been fired. That was the clincher and then Ajay decided to leave Santoshi.” It is believed that Santoshi’s deal with PVR Pictures has also gone kaput. The word in B-Town is that this talented director is not interested in making deals, just announcing them and making moolah. Denials Santoshi is oblivious to everything happening around him. He says, “It’s untrue that the deal with PVR is over. They have not indicated any such thing. I am going ahead with the pre-production of the film. Even if they decide to back out of the film, I’ll do everything in my power to see that it gets made.” When quizzed about the money he received from PVR, Santoshi said, “That is utter rubbish, I have paid all the concerned people. Even Ajay and Bipasha have also received a signing amount from me, that’s the only reason I have got the dates from these actors.” Clueless Santoshi says, “I don’t think Ajay decides who his friend is, Friday-to-Friday. If Ajay doesn’t want to do the film, he and I will make a joint decision. If he’s not doing the films he will let me know.” Ajay was unavailable for comment.
