Karan says that he had put on a lot of flab during the making of Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna, and Koffee with Karan was more than a reason for him to hit the gym. "Honestly, I couldn't handle my love handles any more. Also, I wasn't too pleased with a round plum-like face during the first season of the show," he says. Talking about his health routine, Karan informs that cardiovascular exercises didn't prove to be beneficial in his case as much as weight training did. "Cardiovascular exercises hardly helped. It was only when I started weight training that I managed to lose all the extra kilos. Also, I realised that one's eating habits play a major role. I don't really indulge in chocolates but eating a balanced diet is very important. All thanks to my trainer Vrinda," he says, pulling up his denims which hang loosely on him now. His trainer Vrinda Mehta says, "Not matter how much you work out, results won't be seen if you go wrong with the food." Vrinda, who also trains the Bachchans, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Konkona Sen Sharma and Farah Khan, reveals that the filmmaker's sincerity has actually worked for him. "In spite of travelling so much, Karan manages to lead a disciplined life. No trainer has a magic wand that can be put to use," she says. The filmmaker says that he has no intentions to sport bulging muscles and washboard abs though. He says, "Sporting a macho look with pumped up muscles et al is the last thing on my mind." According to the grapevine, last week, Aditya Chopra approached Kangana to be part of their forthcoming ventures. According to our source, “Kangana has been trying to enter the Yash Raj camp for a long time. She had been sending feelers through her co-actor Shiney Ahuja and even through other common friends. Finally, Kangana’s dream has come true.” Apparently, Aditya liked her in Woh Lamhe, and decided to work with her. The Bhatt camp, surprisingly, is unperturbed with this move. Our source tells us why, “Kangana wanted to do different kinds of roles; she was not getting the deal she wanted in the Bhatt camp. She wanted to work with other prestigious banners, naturally.” How can her ‘unofficial’ walk-out from the Bhatt camp not create an impact on them? “The question of staging a walkout can only arise if we have a contract with the actor. We are a destiny-making company; our security doesn’t come from holding on to our actors like real estate property. We let them free,” says Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt feels that Kangana’s entry into the Yashraj camp is neither a big deal, nor a surprise. “For those who see this as an indication that she has finally arrived in Bollywood, I would say that she arrived the day she faced the camera for the first time in Gangster. wichy: опять про Малику с ее Unveiled Mallika Sherawat ready to be 'Unveiled' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IANS Bollywood's oomph girl Mallika Sherawat, who has signed for a woman-centric Hollywood film 'Unveiled' to be directed by Bill Bannerman, calls it 'a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity'. "It's a fantastic story - part thriller, part psychological drama, part film noir... It was so fast paced and exciting and so well written, I couldn't put it down for a second," said Mallika. "And the icing on the cake was that it's a story from the point of view of a woman -- a woman who has relationships with three men from different continents, and she goes from an ultra-traditional Muslim environment to an ultra-liberal Western one. This is a script I could never say no to," she added. Bannerman is Clint Eastwood's assistant director and has been honoured by the Director's Guild of America as the best assistant director for 'Unforgiven', the film, which went on to win Oscar awards for best director and best film. About casting the Indian actress, Bannerman said: "I was impressed by Mallika's acting prowess in 'Murder' and knew by instinct that she will be able to do justice to the role perfectly." Praising the actress further Bannerman said he was taken aback by her level of professionalism and was surprised to find out that she doesn't have a larger body of work and that Bollywood had not tapped the talent as yet. Bannerman has a phenomenal resume, which includes four films with Clint Eastwood -- 'Unforgiven', 'Bridges of Madison County', 'A Perfect World' and 'Absolute Power'. He has also worked as the development executive for 'Payback', 'Mission Impossible', and 'Star Trek: First Contact' and was the executive producer for 'The Grudge 2' and 'Walking Tall'. Bannerman is directing the feature film with his mentor Eastwood's blessing. Talking about the film, Bannerman said: ''Unveiled' is a film about a Muslim woman who has two husbands and a lover. It is a twisted film noir, sexy thriller and dark drama. It is the first Hollywood film to feature a female Muslim protagonist." Describing the character, to be played by Mallika, he said: "Behind the dark burqa (veil), there lies a sexy, manipulative victim, who's dangerous as well as in grave danger." He had been looking at all possibilities in casting for the lead role. Though Hillary Swank and Penelope Cruz had shown interest, Bannerman wanted the actress to be a South Asian or from the Middle East who'll understand the character of a Muslim woman from the Middle East and lend a degree of authenticity in terms of accent, body language, knowledge of customs among other features. According to our source, "Somehow Hrithik was not convinced still, and asked her to postpone the project." Zoya, eager to salvage her forthcoming film, continued to ideate. "Hrithik will work with Zoya for sure. He has signed a contract with producer Ritesh Sidwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Moreover, Zoya is a friend," says our source. Even after the two signed Kismet Talkies, the cold vibes persisted. In an earlier interview to Mumbai Mirror, Hrithik clearly stated that, "I am doing Zoya's film. I don't know who else is associated with the project." Kareena remained indifferent too. She told Mumbai Mirror, "I liked my character in the film very much. I have never signed any film because of the hero. I am happy that Hrithik is doing the film, but I would have done the film even if he hadn't been associated with the film." Just when Zoya thought she had managed to convince Hrithik, things took a turn for the worse and now Kareena may not do the film. "Kareena has no formal intimation from Zoya yet, but she doesn't know whether she's in the film or not any more. In fact, Hrithik has recommended Priyanka Chopra's name for the film," our source reveals.
